Commune with beasts.— Perk card description

Animal Friend is a Charisma-based perk in Fallout 76.

Effects[]

This perk allows for affecting a mammal that has no spoken language by looking down a weapon's sights and pressing the confirm/use button. Successful pacification is indicated with an animation, whereas failure results in a notification. Once failed, another pacification attempt on the same creature cannot be undertaken without waiting 60 seconds. After a small amount of time, all pacified enemies will become hostile again.

Affected animals[]

This perk affects both regular and legendary animals of the species:

Other creatures may be pacified using the Wasteland Whisperer perk.

Creature taming[]

Main article: Creature taming

With the third rank of this perk, there is a rare chance to tame an animal instead of pacifying it. Higher levels of Charisma improve the chance of successfully taming an animal. After an animal has been tamed, it will walk to the player character's C.A.M.P. and will guard it from there on. Only one tamed animal may be kept at any given time, and tamed animals do not respawn when they get killed.

The following creatures can be tamed using the Animal Friend perk. Listed below are minimum levels (i.e. all creatures listed under Animal Friend 1 can be tamed by Animal Friend 1 or Animal Friend 2 and Animal Friend 3 can tame all creatures listed under Animal Friend 1 and 2):
