While it isn’t the world-ending monster it once was, the Scavenger’s Curved Sword is still up there in the Elden Ring weapon tier list. If you know where to find it — and it’s not hard to find — you can start bleeding out your enemies left and right.
How to Get the Scavenger’s Curved Sword in Elden Ring
You’ll find the Scavenger’s Curved Sword in Mt. Gelmir on a body near where a Grafted Scion miniboss spawns. Reaching that location isn’t hard, but to get to the Altus Plateau that leads to the mountain requires either going through the Ruin-Strewed Precipice or grabbing both halves of the Dectus Medallion and taking the Grand Lift of Dectus elevator.
You won’t be able to get the Scavenger’s Curved Sword early in an Elden Ring playthrough, though if you know what you’re doing, it shouldn’t take more than a few hours to reach its location.
Scavenger’s Curved Sword Location in Elden Ring
Once in Altus, head to the northwesternmost section. You’re looking for a rickety rope bridge that leads across a chasm to Mt. Gelmir. The closest point of interest is the Writheblood Ruins, which you’ll know by the giant blood slimes and dogs whose bits cause Bleeding. Head west from those Ruins, and you’ll find the bridge.
Grab the Bridge of Iniquity Site of Grace, and follow the path to the north (right of the bridge if you face the mountainside). When you encounter a large battlefield with Abductor Virgin constructs rolling around, you’re in the right place. You’ll be taking the ladder on the cliff face, right next to those bladed automatons.
You can either kill them or try your luck getting up the ladder with them on your tail. I prefer the latter, as I find fighting Abductor Virgins to be more annoying than fun. Once up the ladder, continue right through the second battlefield and across the long rocky outcropping that doubles as a bridge. After jumping down, you should see another ladder against another rock face and a pair of bodies with shiny loot on them.
The body farther away from you holds the Scavenger’s Curved Sword. The problem? A Grafted Scion will jump down on you as you approach the weapon. Like with the Abductor Virgins, you can ignore the Scion, grab the Sword, and dip.
Once you’ve got the weapon, you’ll need 9 Strength and 14 Dexterity to use it, but its real strength is in the Bleed buildup, which starts at a solid but not overpowering 45. If you use a spell-like Bloodflame Blade or apply the Bleed Infusion to it, you get much more value, and you’ll also want a healthy Arcane Score of at least 40 to maximize your chances of bleeding enemies. Pair it with another Bleed curved sword and you literally double the blood loss your enemies will take.
And with that, you’ve got your first (or second on New Game Plus) Scavenger’s Curved Sword in Elden Ring. Almost every boss in the game is weak to Bleed, even the mighty Malenia, Blade of Miquella, meaning having the weapon in your arsenal automatically ups your damage potential across the entire Lands Between.
