You can grab the base version of the game for €50,99 or $55.29 and even the Deluxe Edition DLC is on sale. The Digital Deluxe is also on a 15% sale. This pattern of a 10% to 15% discount seems to appear every 6 months or so and even the GOTY Edition was on a 10% sale in the past.
That said, it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing a heftier discount in 2024 since BG3 is still in the top 10 most purchased games on Steam. Still, there have been rumors that there will be more frequent sales in 2024 and that a larger discount might be coming in 2025. Larian has been known in the past to ignore basic economic principles and instead host a larger discount sale on a game that’s still trending to make fans happy.
While even a small discount, like 15%, is still worth it for the vast amount of content in BG3, there might be a discount of 30% or more in 2025. Steam games are known to go on a 40% to 60% sale after about one and a half to two years of shelf life. BG3’s release date was August 3, 2023, so fans should be on the lookout for August 3, 2024, for the largest sale yet celebrating the one-year anniversary.
