Stardew Valley Junimo Huts Guide – How to Get

We first see the Junimos in the Community Center in Stardew Valley. They are cute little critters that are a bit shy around humans. However, once you place their huts on your farm, they will help you by harvesting your grown crops for you whenever possible.

To get the Junimo Huts, you’ll need to complete the Community Center and the two Wizard quests, “Dark Talisman” and “Goblin Problem,” started by wandering up to the Railroad above the Carpenter’s house.

How to Complete Dark Talisman Quest

After completing the Community Center, head up to the Railroad just north of the Robin’s Carpenter shop. You’ll get a cutscene where the Wizard speaks to you about the Witch, his ex. He’ll want you to find a way into the Witch’s hut, and the first step to doing that is retrieving the Dark Talisman.

The Talisman is lost within the Sewers. Go there and speak to Krobus. He’ll open the way into the Bug Sewers room and you’ll find a chest at the very top of the area. Inside the chest is the Talisman. With it, you can head back to the Railroad and use it on the pedestal blocking the passageway to the Witch’s hut.

How to Complete Goblin Problem Quest

The next quest starts immediately once you enter the passageway heading toward the Witch’s hut. You’ll need to get rid of the henchman to continue forward. To do that, you need to give him Void Mayonnaise.

There are a few ways to do this: fish in the pond around the stretch leading to the hut to catch one by random chance or craft it yourself in a Mayonnaise Machine with a Void Egg. Krobus sells a Void Egg for 5,000g or you can get one from a Void Chicken. Once you have Void Mayo, give it to the henchman to continue into the Witch’s hut.

Inside the hut, you’ll find the Magic Ink that the Wizard is missing. It’s on the left side of the hut on the table. After grabbing it, you will be prompted to return it to the Wizard. You’ll find him in the Wizard Tower like usual. He’ll reward you for returning it by giving you access to his magical buildings book, with which, you can craft a Junimo Hut.

How to Build a Junimo Hut in Stardew Valley

After completing those quests for the Wizard, you can now build Junimo Huts anywhere around your farm. This works just like the Carpenter catalog, but the buildings will be crafted immediately when you have the proper materials.

Interact with the magical book in the Wizard Tower to find the recipe for the Junimo Hut. You’ll need the following materials to make it:

  • 20,000g – Earn gold from selling items like crops, harvested items, and Artisan Goods, or completing orders
  • Stone x200 – Collected around farm, forest, or mines with a Pickaxe
  • Starfruit x9 – You can grow some from Starfruit Seeds bought from Pierre’s
  • Fiber x100 – Collected around the farm or forest with a Scythe

How to Use the Junimo Hut in Stardew Valley

When the Junimo Huts are placed on your farm, they start working automatically. The Junimos will harvest mature crops from your farm every morning from 6 to 7 am, as long as the field is in range of their hut. However, there are a few limitations to their harvesting:

  • Junimos cannot harvest crops during winter or rain.
  • Junimos cannot harvest from Wild Seeds, from Garden Pots, or from trees.
  • Junimos cannot harvest giant crops: Cauliflower, Qi Fruit, Powdermelon, Melon, and Pumpkin.

Other than those limits, they will harvest everything else. You can collect their harvests in a small bag tied with a purple ribbon on the ground nearby.

Interacting with the Junimos Huts allows you to toggle their foraging skills on and off. It’ll be the top icon on the right side of the Junimo holding an item over its head. When the red X covers the picture, it means the Junimos will not collect any crops.

You can also store items within the hut. Placing certain items in the Junimo Hut storage can have effects on the Junimos. Raisins, for example, will give them a chance to double-harvest. Placing gems in their storage can actually change their colors.

With some Junimos, farming will be much simpler, and you won’t have to worry about keeping up with those growing crops every day. Just be sure to pick up their harvests from those little pouches.
