Spider-Man 2 is out and is one of the best superhero games ever made. You can play as Peter Parker and Miles Morales, but here’s the answer for if you can play as Venom in Spider-Man 2.

Can You Play as Venom in Spider-Man 2?

Unfortunately, the popular anti-hero is not a playable character in Spider-Man 2. You can, however, play as the incredibly popular black-suit Spider-Man. At a certain point in the story, Peter will come in contact with the symbiote, and it’ll turn him into a fusion of Venom and Spider-Man. This will change his move setup quite a bit and is easily one of the highlights in Spider-Man 2.

This is not a permanent transformation, as you might imagine, so enjoy the chaos while it lasts. You will gain access to incredibly powerful and brutal attacks that turn Peter’s nature far more violent than you’re used to seeing. It doesn’t last all game, though. As everyone knows, Spider-Man has to lose that Symbiote sooner or later in order for the iconic Venom to be born. The showdown between them is a top-level moment in a game stock full of them.

The dual nature of the game has you bouncing back and forth between the two characters throughout the game, and that remains the same when you take over Symbiote suit Spider-Man. We’re going to stay away from spoilers here, but know that Venom does have a presence in the game; it just might not be in the way fans might be expecting.
