Should You Spin Akabi’s Wheel in Baldur’s Gate 3?

It feels impossible to win the jackpot when you spin Akabi’s Wheel, but if you take a few specific options, you can leave the circus with a legendary item in your possession.

Akabi is at the circus, enticing you with exotic prizes from spinning his wheel. As you might expect, Akabi rigged the game using Mage Hand to make sure it never lands on the jackpot. You can accuse Akabi of cheating after the first spin and select the option telling him to do his worst. However, this gets him to Polymorph you, turning you into a cheese wheel and letting you roll around the circus.

How to Win the Jackpot

The secret to winning the jackpot is Akabi’s ring, which is hidden in his beard. Your character will notice it if you pass a Perception Check when you spin the wheel. Go into Stealth and sneak behind him to pickpocket the ring. This allows you to win the jackpot the next time you spin.

Shockingly, Akabi isn’t thrilled that you took the ring and stopped him from cheating. He’ll teleport you away to a jungle where you need to kill some raptor-like creatures or sneak by them to reach the swirly portal to the south.

The chest next to the portal is locked. Since only one character gets sent away, use a character who’s decent with lockpicking to spin the wheel. The chest contains the legendary trident Nyrulna. It’s a good deal after spending about 1000 gold for the spin to get the Perception Check and the next spin to get the jackpot.

So, should you spin Akabi’s Wheel in Baldur’s Gate 3? If you have a party member you want Nyrulna on, then it’s definitely worth spinning Akabi’s Wheel.
