Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Use Divine Intervention

Use Divine Intervention, one of the most powerful Cleric spells in Baldur's Gate 3.

Divine Intervention is a powerful Cleric spell, but you’ll likely be nearing the end of the game when you’re able to use it. You can choose one of four ways to use the spell, so you’ll want to be certain of your choice. With that in mind, here’s how to use Divine Intervention in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Use Divine Intervention in Baldur’s Gate 3

Although you use Divine Intervention in Baldur’s Gate 3 as you would spells like Command, where you select the spell and then the desired effect, there are a few differences. After Divine Intervention is used, it will be removed from your spells. You can’t get it back on that Cleric either, so use it wisely. You’ll get the following four options when you use the spell.

  • Arm Thy Servant: Gain the legendary mace Devotee’s Mace as a permanent weapon.
  • Golden Generosity: Receive a bunch of potions and camp supplies.
  • Opulent Revival: All downed characters are revived with half health. Living characters will be healed as well.
  • Sunder the Heretical: Deal up to 80 Radiant Damage to nearby enemies.

How to Get Divine Intervention in Baldur’s Gate 3

Divine Intervention is a Level 10 Cleric spell that you can use only once per Cleric.

Any Cleric at Level 10 is able to use Divine Intervention because it’s a Class Feature rather than a spell, meaning that you don’t even need to use a Spell Preparation slot for it. Recruiting Shadowheart to your party will get you one use of Divine Intervention, but you can get another use by:

  • Being a Cleric yourself.
  • Multiclassing in a way that gets you Level 10 in Cleric.
  • Visiting Withers to become a Cleric for the spell before switching back to your original class after.

And that’s how to use Divine Intervention in Baldur’s Gate 3. What you want to do with the spell will determine if you want to save it for combat or use it for material goods outside of combat.
