In the same year of its release, it became an official eSport and joined the ESL. In September 2015, the first season of Pro Rocket League was featured in Major League Gaming. The title features cross platform support with PC players.

The documentary reveals that part of the game’s concept originated from  an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod called Deathball. The team spent nearly a decade creating the game as they decided to gain experience and expertise.

Eventually, they released Super Sonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars in 2008 for the PlayStation 3. After releasing the game, Psyonix focused more on growing the studio and gaining more expertise. Once they became a studio that could self publish, they went on to create Rocket League.

Fans of arcade games, racers, and soccer can play Rocket League today.
