Embersilk Cloth Farming Guide

Embersilk Cloth is the highest level of basic cloth that can be obtained in the Cataclysm expansion. This Embersilk Cloth farming guide was created to help you locate the best places to collect this material so you can get to crafting! Like most cloth, Embersilk drops primarily from humanoid mobs of the appropriate level range (80-85).

There are two ways that you can improve your chances of looting Embersilk Cloth: Northern Cloth Scavenging and Potion of Treasure Finding. We’ll cover these below along with the best locations to farm the cloth.

• Embersilk Cloth can be looted from level 80-85 humanoids (and occasionally other types, such as undead).

Potion of Treasure Finding

To increase your chances of looting some Embersilk Cloth you can use Potion of Treasure Finding, which is crafted via Alchemy but can be used by anyone. This potion will cause you to occasionally loot a Tiny Treasure Chest when you kill an enemy in any of the major level 80-85 Cataclysm zones (Mount Hyjal, Vashj’ir, Deepholm, Twilight Highlands, and Uldum). These treasure chests have a chance to contain cloth as well as volatiles, BoE equipment, or ore.

• Cinderbloom x8
• Stormvine x4
• Heartblossom x6
• Whiptail x4
• Crystal Vial x1

Northern Cloth Scavenging

Northern Cloth Scavenging is a skill from Wrath of the Lich King that does carry over to Cataclysm. Despite its tooltip specifying Northrend, you will also be able to collect additional cloth from level 80-85 Cataclysm zones.

This skill can be learned by picking up and turning in a short quest, Cloth Scavenging, from Charles Worth at the Tailoring shop in Dalaran (36.2, 33.6). You can also learn the skill by looting and using A Guide to Northern Cloth Scavenging, a bind-on-pickup item that can drop from Northrend mobs. You must have at least 325 Tailoring skill to learn it either way. You’ll then receive Northern Cloth Scavenging as a permanent buff. You’ll need to reach 400 Tailoring skill for this ability to work in Cataclysm zones.

Deepholm

• This is the best location for farming Embersilk Cloth.
• You’ll be killing Verlok Grubthumper and Verlok Shroomtender, level 83 humanoids at Verlok Stand.

Tol Barad Peninsula

• This is a good place to farm for Embersilk Cloth but will often be crowded due to the daily quests in the area.
• You’ll be killing Ghastly Scavenger, Restless Soldier, and Restless Infantry, level 85 undead at The Restless Front. These mobs will be fighting each other, which will make them fairly easy to kill.

Uldum

• This is another good option if the other locations above are crowded.
• You’ll be killing Schnottz Infantryman and Schnottz Rifleman, level 84-85 humanoids.
