Direct Navigation is an organic search where the user types a specific domain into the browser address bar. The browser address bar is also known as the navigation bar. Keyword and RON Campaigns

Create Your Campaign in 4 Simple Steps

Starting a campaign is easy. Simply create an account at www.trellian.com. A confirmation email and quick start steps will be sent to you. A quick start guide is available http://www.trillion.com/quick-start-guide.html or contact an account manager at accountmanager@trillion.com.
To receive traffic your account must be verified. Verification is in place to protect your account details. If the dashboard shows "Account Status: Pending Verification", check your email for verification or contact an account manager at accountmanager@trillion.com. Your account will remain in pending status and receive no traffic until verified.
Pricing will populate on the dashboard when keywords are added. To view pricing, establish an account and add keywords or create a campaign.
Lengthy keyword combination lists are rarely needed since Trillion unique system matches the root keyword to the intent of the domain. Misspelled keywords, plural, space and no space and permutations are matched to the root keyword in your account. Enter the root keywords as-is. For example, if your keyword is credit report, there is no need to enter multiple combinations of credit report or upload large keyword lists. Managing your keyword list will provide easier campaign management.

For example, enter "credit report" only, there is no need to enter:
report credit
creditreports
creditreport
crditreports
credtsrepotr
Yes. Some blocked terms will be identified as "invalid" when entered.
The Direct Search platform does not recognize punctuation, or grammatical symbols. The system matches all misspells, plurals, permutation, space and no spaces keywords to the intent of the domain. There is no need to enter both the singular and plural or space and no space versions of a keyword. If both singular and plural versions of a keyword are added to a campaign, only (1) one keyword will receive traffic. The remaining duplicate keywords will not receive traffic.
Negative terms can be added to exclude specific keywords from your campaigns and block traffic from terms such as trademarks, brands, unrelated or non-performing phrases. Negative keywords can be entered by clicking "Edit" next to the keyword on the dashboard. Enter one keyword per line in a list format (see example below). After you have added all of your negative keywords click "Update". See the Managing Stop Words manual page for more information.

Keyword Campaigns

The level of traffic received is determined by the number of competitive bidders on the dashboard. Keyword pricing is located in column Bid 1. Your max bid must meet or exceed the prices located in column Bid 1 in order to receive traffic.
  • 1 Bidder - You will receive 100% of the traffic for the keyword provided that you meet the keyword price in the Bid column.
  • 2 Bidders - The top bidder in the Bid 1 position will receive 85% of the traffic and the second bidder in the Bid 2 position will receive 15% of the traffic.
  • 3 Bidders - The top bidder will receive 85% of the traffic, the second bidder will receive 10% of the traffic and the third bidder will receive 5% of the traffic.
RON Campaigns
  • Single Bidder - You will receive 100% of the traffic for the keyword or RON campaign provided you meet the minimum bid price.
  • Multiple Bidders - The top bidder will receive the majority of the traffic with a very small percent distributed to other bidders.
We recommend that users in the 2nd and 3rd bidder positions keep their bids competitive to move into the first position if there are changes to the first bidder's campaigns.

To be notified when keywords are turned OFF due to competitive bids, enable the "Bid Change Notification" feature by clicking the Add Funds link.
Keyword status will remain "paused" until the system has analyzed the data and established the CPV rates. Keywords will then become "active" automatically if your max bid value is greater than the established CPV rate.
Yes, Trillion offers RON (run of network) traffic from over 200 countries worldwide. Keyword Campaigns now also support Geo Targeting with options for Global, US, UK, CA, AU, NZ, IN, BR, DE, FR, NL, IT and ES available. Contact an account manager for more details at accountmanager@trillion.com.
All of the historical data is removed after a keyword is deleted. All information will be lost and you will not be able to restore the keyword's history. It is advised that you turn the keywords in your account “OFF” in order to save the history in reports.
There are two ways to receive more traffic.
  1. Increase your daily limit.
  2. Expand your keyword list or contact an account manager for keyword recommendations.
You may still receive some traffic if your bid is lower than the Average Bid. However, we do recommend that your bid is set to at least $0.03 higher than the Average Bid. As we assign domains to keywords daily, more traffic is generated. Pricing may fluctuate up and down so having a buffer secures your bid position.
The campaign will be activated at $0.15.
In order to block traffic from specific domain names, you need to take the following steps.

1. Add ?subid=$SUBID to your target URL. Each domain has a unique subid.

Example:
http://www.yourwebsite.com/yourpagel?subid=$SUBID

2. This will allow you to capture and then track the performance of each subid.

3. For subid's that you wish to exclude from a campaign, in your dashboard click "Edit" next to the campaign name and then enter all the subid numbers you wish to block.

Please view the Performance Tracking & Optimization manual page for more information.

Dashboard & Reports

ROI Tracking:
ROI tracking is offered to track campaign performance. Select the "ROI Tracking" link on the account dashboard. Enable tracking by clicking the activate button. Copy and paste the HTML tracking code to your check out or conversion landing page.

Dynamic Keyword:
A dynamic keyword is offered to track keyword performance. Add the $KEYWORD variable to the end of your target URL to include the campaign keyword in the redirect.

For example http://www.yourwebsite.com/yourpage.html?kw=$KEYWORD
The number of visitors received will appear in the "Reports" section of your account. This information may be viewed within a specific date range. For example: today, last 7 days, last 30 days, etc.
The unbilled column reports the number of visitors you received but were not charged for as they were repeat visitors or originated from questionable traffic sources. If you wish to no longer receive unbilled visitors contact accountmanager@trillion.com
Frequency Capping is available for Keyword Campaigns. You may set your Keyword Campaigns to receive 3, 6 or 12 visits per unique user in 24-hour period.
In order to block traffic from specific domain names, you need to take the following steps.

1. Add ?subid=$SUBID to your target URL. Each domain has a unique subid.

Example:
http://www.yourwebsite.com/yourpage.html?subid=$SUBID

2. This will allow you to capture and then track the performance of each subid.

3. For subid's that you wish to exclude from a campaign, in your dashboard click "Edit" next to the campaign name and then enter all the subid numbers you wish to block.

Trillion Remarketing?
Remarketing for Trillion Direct allows advertisers to present their keyword specific offer (landing page) to users who have already seen their landing page in order to push them to convert.

For example, say Joe types in a Trillion Domain and is redirected to your Landing Page for a specific keyword. You would want to ensure that if Joe types in another, different domain on the Trillion network that you can remarket your message to Joe so he has a higher chance of converting.
No. Trillion does not allow for any form of conquesting.
Yes. However your corresponding remarketing redirects will only occur on other adult domain names, and never any non-adult domains.
You would pay $.01 higher than your original keyword price.
Yes
Not at this time.
Remarketing for Trillion Direct allows you to aggressively set your remarketing cpc without overpaying by using a bid multiplier within a second-price auction.

When activating Remarketing for a Trillion Direct campaign, you can enter any multiple you would like with a minimum of 2x. This would set your max bid for the repeat visit at 2 times the original cpc price in which you captured the first visit, paying only $.01 higher than the second highest bid.

Example User Flow:

  • User A visits Domain1.com where you win the auction at $.07 redirecting the user to YourLandingPage.com.
  • User A then visits Domain2.com.
  • Your Remarketing multiplier is set at 3x, making your max bid $.21.
  • Another advertiser is also bidding $.08 for the visit.
  • You win the auction for $.09 ($.01 higher than the next highest bid).
  • User A is redirected to YourLandingPage.com.
No.
Sort of but it will never increase your bid price. If you have multiple keywords with remarketing enabled with in the same account/campaign, the remarketing win will always:

  • Go to the keyword with the highest multiple without factoring the other keywords cpc in the second price auction.

    Example:

    • Advertiser A bids up to $.21 for Travel and up to $.14 for Vacations.
    • Advertiser B is bidding $.12 for the visit as well
    • Advertiser A wins the auction on Travel at $.13 ($.01 higher than the second highest bid from another Advertiser).
  • In the case of a tie (i.e. multiple keywords with the same remarketing multiple and bid price) go to the keyword with the most historic redirects.

    Example:

    • Advertiser A bids up to $.22 for Travel w/ 333 historical redirects and up to $.22 for Vacations w/ 457 historical redirects.
    • Advertiser B is bidding $.11 for the visit as well.
    • Advertiser A wins the auction on Vacations at $.12 ($.01 higher than the second highest bid from another Advertiser) as it has the highest number of historical redirects.
Yes. For example, if you are only targeting Mobile devices, your remarketing redirects will only also be for mobile devices.
Remarketing Multipliers are calculated on the current keyword bid.
Per the above, we recommend the following best practices when using remarketing:

  1. Use a high multiple to ensure you capture repeat users. You are protected in that the auction is second price based, meaning you will only pay $.01 higher than the next highest bid.
  2. Use a higher multiple and/or bid price for your most desired keywords to ensure any campaign ties go to your preferred keyword/landing page.
  3. Ensure you maximize your Frequency Caps for cammpaigns using Remarketing to ensure you reach the same User as many times as possible.
