How to transfer your domain name to another registrar?

To transfer your domain to another registrar, follow these steps:

  • Unlock the domain.

For this purpose log into your Client Area > Services > Domains and click on Settings next to the domain name you are interested in. Go to the kebab menu > Registrar Lock. Change the status to “Off” and allow 24 hours for this change to propagate.

  • Obtain the EPP code for the transfer.

You can find the EPP code in your Client Area > Services > Domains > Settings > kebab menu > Get EPP Code.

Some domain extensions do not have this requirement. If you don’t see this button, then you can transfer the domain without EPP code.

  • Initiate the transfer at your new registrar and check regularly the administrative email for your domain.

You can find the valid administrative e-mail for your domain name from your Client Area > Services > Domains > Settings next to the domain you want to transfer. You can also change the email address to a different one from that location.

If you have Domain Privacy activated for your domain and the gaining registrar fails to send a message to your administrative e-mail account you should cancel it. This can be completed from your Client Area > Services. Allow up to several hours for the modification to propagate and the real administrative e-mail account will be shown in the WHOIS lookup.
