The SS America was made in 1939 by Gibbs and Cox co. For the United States Lines. she was Launched, and a few hours later World War Two began, fun, right? The newborn Ocean Liner was ready, but she couldn't do transatlantic crossing as she were meant to, because Germany's vicious Wolf packs made it clear they would sink any ship, of any nation except them and their allies, that came close to Britain. So the America became a cruise ship for her early life. War caught up with the United States in 1941 following the bombing of pearl harbour, and she was stolen away and made into a Troopship. She would serve throughout the war as the USS West Point, and would never encounter a scratch upon her during this war. A child was born upon her at this time, and his middle name was West Point in honour of it. During her time, she encountered an entire flock of Japanese bombers, which rained hell down upon her and her accomplice the USS Wakefield. She left unscathed, but the Wakefield burned. Following the war, she was given back to United States Lines, and the Cannibalised Flagship became the luxurious flagship once again. But in 1952 she was flagship no longer, that title being given to the SS United States, the fastest Ocean Liner. She would serve until 1964, when they sold her off to the Fledgling Chandris Lines.
