The LAAT/le Gunship, le standing for Law Enforcement, also known as the Republic Police Gunship during the Clone Wars and later the Imperial Patrol Transport during its service under the Galactic Empire was the smaller and sleeker civilian model of the LAAT/i. Introduced during the Clone Wars the LAAT/le saw use mainly on Republic Worlds such as Coruscant as a Police Gunship. Utilised by Police Officers, Guardian Police Droids as well as the Coruscant Guard to great effect as its smaller profile made it far easier to traverse the dense city planet on the hunt for fugitives such as in the case of the Manhunt for Ahsoka Tano who was falsely suspected of being the one behind Jedi Temple bombing.

After the fall of the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire took its place, the LAAT/le saw broader use in the Imperial Military taking up a role more akin to that of its older brother the LAAT/i which although being used by the Galactic Empire during its formative years fell into more rebellious hands such as the Kashyyyk Resistance and later the greater Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Being deployed in order to put down rebellious activity or to hunt down high priority fugitives such as Jedi the LAAT/le saw action on several planets such as Zeffo during the Inquisitorius' hunt for Cal Kestis in 14BBY and on Lothal fighting the Lothal Resistance Cell also known as the Spectres who were part of the greater phoenix cell and later the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
