You may know me as Zayne, that is an... uh, alias, I use. At the current- as of right now, I am... 17 years old... um...-

Let me cut you off right there. I'll do the talking.
Zaynab is my OC, a character I'll be playing for the AluminaRP. I should clarify that Alumina!Zaynab and StarCrest!Zaynab are two different characters, sort of. They live the same life, after all I'm roleplaying as him so I don't have to write him, but their environments are fundamentally different. Anyways, Zaynab is a boy, despite his name, who is known back in the Chasm for being a shy and timid with his only redeeming quality being pretty. He is strong, he trains hard on his own, and he earnestly wants to protect everyone, he just can't do that when there are other people around, for tragic backstory reasons.
Moving on, in Chasmian culture, at the age of 15 all children have to undergo a rite of passage, coming of age or something. Now this rite of passage is very very vague. The most common interpretation is to become a hero, and most do it by helping the Chasmian community. Problem- Zaynab does not like interaction, and hates the eyes of others even more. So he leaves the Chasm and heads to Althian to pass his rite. Hopefully pick up something that doesn't require talking to people, like defeating an evil lord or something.
Most that leave the Chasm never come back. Those that do almost always succeed.

So he successfully doesn't get mauled and or corroded by sand wyrms, zombie dragons, and magical nuclear radiation. Now he's in Althian, with no real idea on how to move forward. He starts by looking for something that could give him a job, maybe like a knight or adventurer or something, something that screams "hero". He finds nothing. Nobody is hiring and his anxiety and panic is starting to settle in because he is not only dressed like a hobo, he is dressed like a foreign hobo. And getting a lot of stares. Oh and he has a big shiny gold adorned weapon on his back. That's helping, definitely.

This is where he catches the eyes of a noble. Marquis Camille of the Nebula. Because you know. Foreign hobo with big shiny weapon. But isn't that an impressive weapon? Surely this kid has some fight in him? And foreigners don't know how much money is minimum wage, but the noble is totally a very honest person and won't cheat a 15 year old boy.
A qualification spar later and this boy is all show no skill and completely worthless. His form was great, but he was trembling constantly and Camille swore he passed out standing up because this kid was not reacting. At all. The kid hasn't made so much as a sound, not since the Earl dragged him from the streets- but he didn't ever finish listing off the kid's incompetencies, because his daughter, Meleyna, enters the room and asks Zaynab was. He introduces himself as Zayne because that leaves less room for questioning.
