I'm looking for your opinion on how I'm structuring events on my custom-coded Minecraft creative server, Libre Galaxy. As creative is our focus, I'm hosting a building competition. However, the way I'm hosting it is atypical, primarily by way of giving players a week to make their builds.
I worry that in an era of the "attention economy" that lacking urgency (by way of not hosting the event with a shorter build time, like 24 hours) is hindering the participation of the event. My goal with these events are for both new and old faces to come on and genuinely have fun being creative. Possibly getting on the top rated builds podium is a secondary consideration. There is no huge prize or short time frame that might add unnecessary pressure intentionally.
Does this type of event and setup interest you or do you think the structure needs to be changed? I'd love to hear your thoughts
