When I try to play on the latest snapshot in Java I for some reason get error -2, how do I fix it?

if latest snapshot doesnt work then try oldest snapshot
You migh also try searching the MS/Mj bug tracker to see if this is a common problem…
are you able to read the crashlog if so can you copy everything it says in it and paste it to pastebin and then post the link to it here?
