the egg obviously the chickens ancestors would have mated and created the egg and then the chicken would emerge by evolution
More a kōan than an answerable question…
I know that for there to be an egg there had to be a chicken, but I like to think that for there to be a chicken, there had to be a Steve who threw an egg against a block for a chicken to hatch.
