My Stranger Things Project Problem & Solution (Solved!)

Today, I'd like to discuss my only biggest issue for this "far-into-the-future" project.

No offense to anyone who's tried, but I really never come across a really good Stranger Things map of Hawkins AND The Upside Down, so I want to make one for my fanbase! (If I even have one, but I think my friends count! :P)
So, here's the issue: How do I make The Upside Down into Minecraft reality?
Well, here are my two possible solutions! (You can definitely suggest another and I'll be happy to add it in the poll!)
1. Make it in the Nether, and use portals for the Gates.
2. Use Structure Blocks to copy Hawkins and put the duplicate FAR away and turn it into The Upside Down and use command blocks for teleporting and particles.

Note: I've decided to build The Upside Down in the Overworld, due to The Nether not being the way I intended and considering the fact that the Overworld has an open sky and weather system which is perfect for The Upside Down.
Sorry to those who wanted me to build it in the Nether, I tried to make it work but it didn't. :P

I'll be making a small treat of a map for the Stranger Things fans sometime...
i think making it in the nether would be really cool! :O
I'd agree too! But some problems will occur, like the skyboxes being different, and the Nether having no real sky like the Overworld for the Mind Flayer to even be seen.
