Seems like you're trying to replace model for block that doesn't support any form of transparency.
There's two possible workarounds here
replace model of block that support transparent trextures (ta name a few: glass, slime block, iron bars, etc.)
or
model out the trasnparent texture details (altho it will result in more elements in the model and is not recommended)
