We tried our best to prepare. I guess in the end we could never really be ready for the war that was ahead. Countless amounts of bloodshed. Tainted the once peaceful society. Now it's nothing but ruins. A mere shadow of what it was. The people experienced loss like never before that day. Now time spent sleeping is far happier than the time spent awake, with time to think about... everything. The cold brisk air grazed along my cheeks as the moon glowed in the night sky. Crackling fires and flickering flames. A typical night in the village. Untill... From the forest many shadows emerged. Soft groans filled the once quiet air. Tension grew as people became aware. The day had come. I remember very little from that point. We fought with such bravery but outnumbered we had little chance of survival. Retreating was our last resort. Unfortunately my family has not has the time to escape. I was ready to through myself into the hoard so I could join them. I realise now that revenge will be so much sweeter!
