Aura, the "scientist" who is experimenting on fairy souls and also grows nether wart. And Professor Robot, her potential accomplice. Both are obsessed with the precursors and want to steal their treasures, the Professor asks you to open the Automaton Prime and Aura has Precursor chairs and Automaton heads.

She says that the future is Impossible for a reason. Would a random NPC lie about lore? No.

They could be Precursors, Precursor Mages, but what about the Taika?

I got an explanation, the Hero was a Precursor, who was adventuring and stumbled upon them. And the Queen is the strongest, but I got the reason.
The magic of the Mages and the Withers is not the same as the Precursor one. Storm had a bit of the Precursor one, though, thunder is electricity and the Precursors did that, so Storm was a half-Precursor.
