(Forgive the crude, child-like thumbnail. I'm not a modeler nor a photoshop expert. However, some might view it as thematically appropriate as this is a child-like dream) (Credits for photos used are down below).

(Lastly, I'd like to mention that I know none of this is possible in vanilla Minecraft. These are just ideas from me thinking within the game's canon).

Let's begin with a little fascinating history. We don't know specifically when or how it happened, but at some point, some of the ancient builders, villagers, and piglins started becoming ill with an undead disease. According to an old villager tale, (Minecraft Legends) there was a time when the undead were friendly and even defended the overworld during the Piglin War. Though we don't know if this is true, we know a Piglin War did happen since even the piglins admitted to it happening (in Minecraft Legends: Return of the Piglins). Further, the villagers claim there was a time when creepers were citizens who only blew up to sacrifice themselves for the good of the Overworld.

The common theme obviously being there could be a canonical possibility to have friendly undead and creepers. Looking at how zombification affects certain critters like piglins, horses, and pigs, the thought of non-hostile undead is not out of the question. Hypothetically, creepers might simply need to be reprogrammed.

Looking further into the timeline towards more reliable sources, there is an illager named Archie who despite being eventually corrupted by the Heart of Ender was banished from his tribe and found refuge in a village. Of course, he was seen as an outcast, but he still did his best to get along with the villagers. By the end of Minecraft Dungeons, the heroes forgave him for what he did under the Heart's influence and he joined them.

Once again, there is a theme of someone from a normally hostile species being peaceful. Illagers don't inherently have to be evil; they just have to be raised properly.

Lastly, I'd like to bring up the piglins. Most know that (with the exception of brutes) piglins are neutral when humans wear gold armor. Though outside this demonstration of fortune, piglins tend to not like humans or our allied golems. In fact, according to Minecraft Legends, villages are attacked by armies of them. But have a look at the baby piglins. They don't attack players or even carry weapons. Now, this is most likely because the older piglins view them as too young to send into battle or a hunt, but the idea of nonviolence is present in their minds. As such, they too can be taught to be civil. Furthermore, in Minecraft Dungeons, there is a piglin merchant who is willing to peacefully trade gold for gilded items. It is true that we don't know what they're using the gold for, but there is at least a possibility they might be an innocent merchant with nothing against us and the villagers. (Also, it is revealed through the book Minecraft Legends: Return of the Piglins that they can use netherwart to help them stay unzombified, so we might be able to help them with interdimensional travel).

We don't know if the Horde of the Hunt, or Spore were real, but if they were, and still exist somewhere, I would be happy to have their descendants become peaceful civilians along with the common modern-day Bastion piglins. Perhaps we could even make a vaccine to prevent them from becoming zombified outside the Nether. As for the already zombified piglins, we can either help them live with it like the zombies from Minecraft Legends or find a cure for them. Plus, if they joined us, we might be able to get some hoglins on our side.

(It might also be possible to recruit other organisms like Endermen and Witches to join such a civilization).

All these intelligent beings would have civilians and soldier variants (yes, even villagers). Civilians would not battle, but soldiers would. (I'm thinking of calling this version of the game "Soldiers and Citizens").

Aside from having villages with all these intelligent beings living peacefully and banding together to combat crises, my ideal version of Minecraft would have entities from every single official work (with a handful of exceptions). Some organisms that come to mind are the exclusive villager and illager variants, the Enderlings, and pets from Minecraft Dungeons, the delightful creature variants from Minecraft Earth, the Wither Storm and Admin-made mobs from Story Mode (which I know is not canon), a few of the variants from the April Fools updates like ponies and kingbdogz (but it would be okay with we left out the pink Wither, potato critters, and trendy mobs. Alternatively, we could make them super rare.), the villager variants and Agent from Minecraft Education (with the exception of the futuristic ones and animal ones), the lost concept mobs and mob vote losers, and the allies and foes from Minecraft Legends.

I know that's a tall order, but there is a creator on planetminecraft.net named "GillsBills" who is already well on their way to adding every single official entity. They are the creator of my favorite texture pack, "Recrafted Mobs." I can't endorse them enough!

Furthermore, there is a separate texture pack called "No More Racism" (it's a silly name in the context of Minecraft lore, I know) by Joly-Workshop which adds illager variants of villagers and vice versa. It may not complete my vision, but it is a great step forward as it makes villagers and illagers coexist. Again, I strongly advise checking out their work.

I'm planning to learn how to make a mod and/or data pack that will add everything mentioned here. First, though, I would like to finish my horror icons texture pack.

In summary, what I see for the perfect future of Minecraft's civilizations is a bunch of towns and villages in every dimension inhabited by intelligent beings and animals of all kinds. They would have their own governments as well as armies and golems for if they ever needed to fight off invaders. It would no longer matter if a being were undead, nonhuman, or even quadrupedal. It would be a heavily diverse society built on love, allyship, and trust.

Finally, I'd like to clear up that this version of the game would not have ALL the intelligent beings as passive or neutral as there should still be the classic challenges of surviving the night and defeating illager raids. The game should still have people and monsters that want us dead, but there should also be some that want us to thrive.

It all may sound silly, but this is a serious passion of mine and I want to make this dream a reality before I die. I don't care if I complete it in my 90s.

As a reader, you are not obligated to help me, but if you can recommend anything that would make achieving this dream easier, I would STRONGLY appreciate it.

(If anyone wants their work removed from this post, please message me and I'll change it right away).
