Hello! Today we'll be learning how to download ATLauncher, the most popular mod launcher for Minecraft. It's not very technical, all you need is:

1. A Windows 10 computer
2. Chrome
3. The ability to download things
4. A Minecraft account (bought at minecraft.net - only $27)
5. This guide!

*(NOTE: Other popular launchers, like Technic or Twitch launchers, have separate download instructions. I may make guides on these in the future)*


Let's start by downloading the JEI, or Java. (Not to be confused with JEI, as in Just Enough Items)

1. Go to java.com
2. Click Download
3. At the bottom, click See all Java downloads
4. Click Windows Offline (64-bit)
5. Once the file has downloaded, click it.
6. Follow Java's instructions.

After that, you've downloaded the JEI! Now you can run single mods - but not modpacks. That's what ATLauncher is for! Let's download it now.

1. Go to atlauncher.com
2. Click Download at the top
3. Scroll down and click "Windows (.exe)"
4. Follow the steps to start downloading ATLauncher!

You've downloaded JEI and ATLauncher, now what? Now we have to log in.

1. Run ATLauncher
2. Click Accounts
3. Enter your Mojang username/email and password. This is not signing up. This is the account you signed up for when you bought Minecraft.
4. You're done!

Now, here's some how-tos on ATLauncher.


~-~-~-~- DOWNLOADING ANOTHER PERSON'S PACK -~-~-~-~

1. Open ATLauncher
2. Click Packs
3. Find the modpack you want
4. Click "New Instance"
5. Wait for the modpack to download
6. Go to Instances
7. Click Play on your modpack!

Repeat 6 and 7 each time you want to play your modpack.


~-~-~-~- MAKING YOUR OWN MODPACK -~-~-~-~

1. Open ATLauncher
2. Click Vanilla Packs
3. Find "Vanilla Minecraft with Forge"
4. Click New Instance
5. Wait for it to download
6. Go to Instances
7. Find Vanilla Minecraft with Forge

You have options here. Either pick from ATLauncher's preset mods, OR download mods and put them into your modpack.

ATLauncher preset mods:

1. Find Vanilla Minecraft with Forge
2. Click "Add Mods"
3. Choose the mods you want in your modpack!

Download mods:

1. Find and download your mod
2. Find your Vanilla Minecraft with Forge modpack
3. Click Edit Mods
4. Click Add Mod
5. Find your mod file
6. Repeat until you've added all your mods!
