On the eve of a new decade, it's time to look back on the great music which has been released in the 2010's.

To begin with, I'd like to highlight some of my favourite albums of the past 10 years, I'll only go one album per artist because otherwise this list will be unending!

(in no particular order)

Linkin Park - The Hunting Party (2014)
Seriously one of the best alternative rock albums released of all time! At least in my opinion, feel free to disagree. I love this album because it has more of the "rock" sound compared to the previous 3 albums they released.
Interesting Fact: I had a ticket for "The Hunting Party Tour" in Windsor, Ontario, however, Chester Bennington got injured on stage and thus they had to cancel the rest of the tour, meaning I never got the chance to see them.

Noisecontrollers - E=NC² (The Science of Hardstyle) [2012]
This album was created when Noisecontrollers was still a duo consisting of Bas Oskam and Arjan Terpstra. It contains many tracks that are considered classics today such as So High, E=NC², and the Alpha² Remix of Tonight, the original being a classic in it's own right being a collaboration between Headhunterz, Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers!

Malice - The Extreme (2018)
This album is not one for virgin ears! Containing only the rawest of what the hardstyle scene can offer! These Italian raw mofos are some of the best at what parts of the hard dance community call "xtra raw". A few track highlights for me are The World is Yours with Physika, Psikosh*t!, and Death Destruction with Luminite.

B-Front - Beyond Reality (2017)
What can I say about this album other than "It's Beautiful!"? The atmospheres that B-Front creates in this album are insane. The entire album has a sombre feeling to it, perhaps aside from the last few tracks that go a little bit harder. My highlights for this album are Beat the Darkness with ANDY SVGE, EVP, and Eternal Voice.

Phuture Noize - Black Mirror Society (Deluxe Edition) [2019]
Phuture Noize is an amazing producer whose ability keeps getting better. Beautiful melodies and amazing atmospheres. Highlights include The Beginning of Something New, Monster, Run Away, Drift Away, and I Am Screaming Out.

Headhunterz - Studio Sessions (2011)
This for me is Headhunterz at his best! The melodies are freaking great, and you have to love a good reversed bass. Highlights: Psychedelic, Forever Az One (Noisecontrollers Remix), and the ever classic Heady Remix of Her Voice originally by Builder.

Now time to narrow down some individual tracks released in the last decade that I absolutely love!

Sub Zero Project - Be My Guide (2019)
This track was released as part of their debut album "Contagion", however I feel this track deserves special recognition outside of the album. It's seriously the most emotional track that the boys of SZP ever made. The melody, while simple, really hits you in the heart and the vocal work is really amazing.

Ophidian - Running On Empty (2017)
According to Ophidian himself, this track was made at a point where he was starting to question his place in the hardcore scene, but he decided to just say "screw it" and make something that HE wanted to create, without worry of the ways that the scene has been changing. The result is this beautiful piece of art! You could argue that it was the success of this track that kept Ophidian in the scene, as he was literally on the edge of giving up.

Radical Redemption & Noisecontrollers - Vampire (2018)
This was a collaboration that was unexpected by most and turned out really freaking good. The melody is taken from a choir performance of some sort, and the entire track has a dark feeling to it. What's so great about it is that you can really hear the sound design of both producers, which can be difficult in some collaborations.

Physika - Such Silence (2016)
This is one of the first tracks I heard from this producer and it instantly made me fall in love with his style. The melodies are on point and the feeling of the track is simply great!

Zany & B-Front - Victims of the Same World (2012)
I have no words for this one, it's just plain awesome.

Vyral & Infirium - Principles of Life (2017)
Melodic epicness and gated kicks, what more need I say?

Phuture Noize - The One Lie (2015)

A perfect example of a track that needs no vocals to be emotional.

B-Front - Symphony of Shadows (Qlimax 2019 Anthem)
My favourite Qlimax anthem, it's just that good. The anthems of the past are amazing but I LOVE this one!

I could go on, but this list needs to end at some point and I've decided to end it here.

Thanks for reading and see you next decade!
