The Dovahkiin's Reward

With a Lexicon in his hand and a sword on his back, the Dovahkiin entered the ruins of Mzinchaleft. He turned a corner and thought he saw something. He convinced himself that it was his imagination, but when he turned another corner he came face to face with a Dwarven Sphere. The giant doors shut behind him, preventing escape. the Dwarven Sphere stared at him for a moment, then oiled its gears and started to attack. It lunged at the Dovahkiin, gashing his left arm, luckily he was right handed. He cut off one of the sphere's arms leaving only the one with the crossbow mechanism on it. It shot at the Dovahkiin, hitting him in the knee. (LOL) The Dovahkiin shouted, "FUS...RO...DAH!", knocking the machine backwards and impaling it on a lever.

He searched the body of the sphere, only to find a note that read:

Dear Traveler,

If you are reading this, it means you have passed the test. Pull the lever you see in this room and enter Blackreach, if you have the Lexicon and the skill.

"Could it be true?" thought the adventurer. He had heard stories about Blackreach when he was young and always wanted to prove its existence to his long gone friends. He thought about his friends for a moment, who were now dead at the Throat of the World because of him. He pushed the image back into his mind. He pulled the lever, and sure enough a box shot up. He put the Lexicon in the box and pushed it back down. A large door in the floor opened up and a spiral staircase seemed to go down forever inside of it. He fought his way to the bottom, facing numerous Falmer and more Dwarven inventions.

He reached the bottom, where a huge doorway was being blocked by a giant statue. He was about to give up, but steam started seeping out of the statue. It came alive and started attacking him. He got a huge gash across his cheek when the Centurion jabbed at him. He went into a fury, hacking and slashing at the machine's strong metal until it was a pile of rubble. The huge door opened, revealing a giant cave filled with mysterious plants and more odd structures, like a giant cage. He saw what he came for: a chest in the middle of the cave with a large light hovering above it. He assumed this was the reward. He ran towards the chest only to see that there was no way to open it. He saw a note written on the chest that said, "One final test and the strength of the Dwemer are yours." He had no idea what to do, so he decided that he should see if the light could crush the chest and open it. He shouted, "FUS RO DAH!", at the light, and a large winged creature appeared from the smoke.

A dragon! He had only heard about these in myths and legends, and also from what the Greybeards at High Hrothgar had told him. He believed it was all fake, and that he was just good enough of a mage to learn these "magic shouts." The dragon flew into the air, breathing fire all over. The Dovahkiin dodged the flames and looked for a way to kill the dragon. He saw a harpoon looking contraption about 50 feet away from him. He ran to it, with the dragon circling above. He got to the mechanism, aimed it at the dragon and pulled the trigger. A giant harpoon shot out, reeling the dragon in. When it got close enough, the Dovahkiin jumped on its back and shouted, "JOR ZAH FRUL!", bringing the beast to the ground. He stabbed it in the eyes, blinding it. The Dovahkiin ran away from the dragon, looked at the large cage, which was now open, and shouted,"FUL MEY GUT!" The dragon started to walk towards the large cage. The dragon went into the cage, and the Dovahkiin quickly locked it. The Dovahkiin shouted, "KRI LUN AUS!", lowering the Dragon's defenses. He then ran up to it and cut its head off with his Sword. An odd light came out of the dragon and was absorbed by the Dovahkiin. He didn't know what it was, but it made him feel stronger. The dragon's body reduced to bones after that. The Dovahkiin searched the bones and found a key in the skull. He put the key in the chest and turned it. Then it all faded to black.

He woke up to find that he was at the entrance of Mzinchaleft, with the chest next to him and a note that read:

Dear Hero,

Thank you for killing the dragon that wiped out our race. You proved that you are worthy enough to wear our armor in battle. Open the box and put on the armor, you shall feel invincible.

The Dovahkiin put on the armor that he found, and it did make him feel invincible. He wore it when he destroyed the Stormcloaks and when he defeated Alduin at Sovngarde. He wore it when he hid in the Night Mother's coffin and when he met Mehrunes Dagon, Molag-Bal, and the Nocturnal. He wore it up until his joints were too weak to adventure and fight anymore. Some say he still has it above his fireplace in his Mansion in Solitude. Most say that none of this ever happened. Me? I say it did happen and he still has it above his fireplace to this very day. I know this because I am the Dovahkiin, and this is my tale.
