Best Skins going unnoticed? Is Planet Minecraft a Popularity contest?

Is minecraft a popularity contest? I think so. I was looking at some skins yesterday made by low levels (1-10). And they were really good, but because no one heard of their name before they went unnoticed with 3 views and 2 diamonds. It was very good, but it was unnioced so i asked myself is minecraft a popularity contest? So this is why i writing this blog. I am very bad at writing blogs so i bet you that this blog wont get that many views. Please if you believe in this please diamond. and i want to here from you do you thing planet minecraft is a popularity contest?

OMG...Found about 7 or 8 skins today that were amazing and were a week old with 1 diamond or 2 diamonds and had 3 views. guys if you want to be helped you have to help others too.

Tips on How to get noticed...
Make the name real cool so people actually want to see it
make a cool picture for front of it (not for skins of coarse)
upload it at a time that a lot of people are on...so dont upload it on a school day upload it on the weekend or after 4 on weekdays
make sure you add a description as well...that could really help.
update the skin if you dont like it or if no people see it

I would just like to ask, are you searching by date or favorites? If its by date, of coursethe good ones may be at the bottom.

well automatically you search by date and people just look at the top most of the time and dont take effort to look through 4 pages to find a really good one

I make stuff because i like doing so. If i get " noticed" it adds to my anticipation of making another skin and making me want to make better skins. Everyone started out " unoticed" but if you produce quality work then eventually you should get " noticed" But PMC is a popularity contest the more popular you are then the more views etc you will get also mods tend to get heaps of attention mainly because they are mods but basically anything they produce people are like a moth to a flame. Not that im complaining im only stating a point of view.

Yes, PMC is filled with people who go crazy trying to get attention/xp/diamonds. It saddens me deeply.

i made a skin, Hadord the God of Beards, and it only has 4 diamonds, 16 views and 3 downloads.
I'm really dissapointed. Some people prefer steve with red shirt skins better than my skin.
I don't see why people like NORMAL skins they can make themselves? it just goes to proove, some people are being a bit lazy.
A GUY THAT COMMENTED ON MY SKIN SAID THAT. I agree, very much.

i really see your point i mean i uploaded some what i think are decent skins but no one except my friends even commented, and that really got me annoyed.

Well, popularity on PMC is always a blend of quality and luck... you have to put out good skins, sure, but you also have to be seen...

I mean, every good skinner started unnoticed. Halucid and Leostereo didn't just start out at level 30+ or whatever, they were new here at one point as well. It's jus that they kept putting out good skins, and their popularity grew because of the quality and quantity of their submissions. Everyone has the potential to get as 'known' as the best skinners through these same means. They're popular because they legitimately make really good skins, I don't see why that's really a bad thing tbh.

i hate that PMC is a popularity contest they seriously need to get it so that you see the better and the worse and that PMC need's to be changed for the newbs (newbs=new players not noobs)
