4 out of 5 stars
It's exactly as shown and described.
It is as advertised. Pay attention to sizing with whatever shoe/ boot you will use. Use only on snow and ice at least an inch or two thick. Put them on boot when warm (not when they're at -10 degrees). Practice putting on indoors BEFORE using them.

I do a 2-mile brisk daily walk on a gravel road, in a part of the country that remains snow-covered for several months of the Winter.

When you plow a gravel road, you don't scrape the snow all the way down to bare gravel -- you leave behind a packed-snow driving surface. With temperature changes and sun, icy spots form -- sometimes huge sheets of pure ice. With these spikes, I have never fallen or even slipped a little. The teeth don't bend, and they bite in confidently. I have used them on trails with patches of dirt (roots, rocks) mixed in with snow and ice, and they do great. They don't squirm on my shoes and feel very confident.

The weak spot is the chain-links joining the spiked plates. I have had a couple links "open up" leaving the chains loose and jangly. I bent them back with pliers. They held for several more months but recently some of the horseshoe-shaped links have completely broken. I repaired them with wire but am getting tired of making the repairs. So I'm calling them done at this point. At 2 miles a day and about 6 total months of walking (last year plus this year so far) that gives approximately a 350-mile lifespan. In contrast, my partner has the "name brand" spikes which cost about 4 times (no kidding) as much. She's had them for years and they show no sign of giving out. The chain links are clearly more burly looking. They will probably last forever. This seems like a very fair price vs. durability compromise, so I'm overall happy with this product. It is great for just-in-case or occasional use, but I am replacing them with the "name brand" ones because I plan many more years of walking.

I have the XL spikes and I use them on insulated Columbia snow boots (size 10) and uninsulated Muck boots, (size 9). The spikes install easily and don't slip once installed. The included nylon straps are awkward and seem unnecessary; I have never used them. If I try to use them on my regular shoes, the metal/chain portion is a bit larger than the sole so they don't fit as snugly -- but will work okay.

Out of the box, they appear to be descent quality. The rubber seems durable and is pliable enough to be easily slipped on and off. I wear size 14 hiking boots and purchased the XL size. I believe I noticed a comment or two in the reviews about them being small and difficult to get on. I had no such difficulties. I found them quite easy to get on and off and in fact if anything they could have been a bit more snug (but were not so big as to slip off unexpectedly). The Cleats (18 on each foot) themselves are quite sturdy and 1/2 inch long. Plenty of bite when negotiating more than just occasional patches of ice on terrain with minimal snow.
So far, I have used these twice and I am VERY pleased. Once on a short 2.5 mile jaunt and once during an 8 mile hike while in steeper terrain near the confluence of a few mountain streams. Both times, I was walking on snow covered ground (approx 3 inches of wet, from warming temps, snow). Snow in that condition is just about as slick as it gets, unless your on pure ice. Both times the Cleats aided immeasurably! The folks with me who had no added traction devices had a very difficult time while on any incline. Those with Yak Track type devices did slightly better but still had difficulties. I had none!
As I alluded to in the first paragraph, these would not be my first choice for frozen, but mostly barren ground. Stick to the Yak Tracks or Micro Spikes for that (not that these wouldn't work). But when something a bit more aggressive is needed, I would most certainly recommend these! NOTE: If your looking for American Made, these are not it.

After struggling on hikes with smaller cleats, I bought these and actually laughed out loud. Why on earth I didn’t own them before I can’t tell you. I’ve since used them plenty and they work a treat. They’re sturdy, they don’t slip on the feet, and they make you feel (almost) invincible on a snowy hiking trail.

I live in a suburban area and do a lot of trail running, but have to connect to the trails on sidewalk and road. I purchased these to be able to continue to get some trail time in in spite of a fair amount of snow. I've now used these twice, but on a variety of terrain. I can say that they have decent grip in soft snow, well packed snow, slushy snow. The deepest areas I've used these on is about 4inches and they do very well. I've had a couple of small slides on the slushier stuff, but stop after a couple inches and haven't fallen. I've also had to cross over some bare sidewalk and streets and the metal spikes have not broken off (I'm about 140lb, not sure if they'd be as durable for a heavier person.) These are easy to put on with the back clearly labeled. The rubber uppers are thick, yet stretchy, and haven't come anywhere near breaking. The velcro strap across the top helps keep these secure. They also come with a carrying pouch. I've noticed a little bit of clumping of ice in the spikes, but it does not appear to have detracted from the grip. When you are done and remove them, just clap them together to get the debris off. I purchased these to wear with a US women's size 10.5 trail running shoe and the large fits perfectly.

I purchased this for use during my winter trip to Iceland. I am an island girl and I've never used ice cleats before. I can say that they fit great and they look really badass 😎 lol... jk jk. Really though, it was fairly easy to figure out and they are comfortable if you get the right size. My boot ended up being an 8.5 instead of a 7.5 so the Medium was a little small as you can see from the photos, but the size chart provided is accurate and I expect it to fit better once I correct the sizing of the boot. They were comfortable to walk in and they didn't slide around or move once affixed. This was my fear which is why I chose not to get a Large. I will update this review to detail how it performs through the Icelandic winter. Until then!

Arrivati puntualmente.
