I was looking forward to getting this and I am please that my coffee stays warm. Assuming the cup it comes with is slightly more than halfway full
However
1. If ANY part of your cup is metal, it will get scorching HOT and you are in for a BURN. I have a popular brand of insulated mug; the (flat) bottom is stainless steel - it has a metal “core” as do MANY insulated and travel cups. Reaching for it, I ended up with a painful blistered burned hand. I imagine that many users of a coffee warmer would also have travel cups that are partly or mostly steel with insulating bands. WATCH OUT! Your travel cup is not suitable for this.

2. How long the warmer stays hot Is VERY VARIABLE. Sometimes it turns off when there is not enough weight or after some period of time. BUT, sometimes it doesn’t turn off! Last night, in the evening, HOURS after morning coffee & cup were removed, I accidentally touched it…and to was blazing HOT. Got a potholder to move it. So, Be VERY CAREFUL - it acts like a temperamental hot plate. On the other hand, I can make HOT cocoa from slightly warmed milk…

All that said, I like it. - but I think it really needs a a couple warnings. Mine has almost boiled milk (!) & the plate really gets hot. I like that it has no switched, etc. and it may be that my unit is defective…? Also, if anything spills on it - some coffee drips - it is impossible to clean, the drip burns in. I unplugged it and tried to wipe off with cool water- no luck. I don’t know what non-abrasive cleaner I can use.

Bought this as a gift for my husband’s desk. One of the least expensive things I got him. He told me yesterday it was low key his favorite item. He works from home and makes his coffee in the morning but can get busy and the coffee gets cold. With this, when he remembers it, the coffee is still hot. I like that it shuts off when the cup is removed as a safety precaution. Also, it comes with a cup, but according to him, it’s too small. This fits his giant Star Wars mug just right. I’ve added this to the list of things for my daughter when she goes to college next year.

This model plugs into an electrical socket, not a USB port. It only turns on with the weight of a filled cup, a good safety feature. When on, it keeps coffee or tea good and hot, but not so hot as to burn your mouth. When it is ON, a light is lit. Always good to make sure the light is on. If the cup is only partially full, sometimes it doesn't turn on and the coffee starts cooling. The cup has a flat bottom, which absorbs the heat better. It seems to work with regular cups but I haven't analyzed the differences.

I liked this warmer next to my computer so much that I bought a second one to use next to my easy chair.

It’s much more attractive than the other brand I’d been using, and keeps my coffee at a much better temperature. But it doesn’t always click “on” when I set my mug down, even when my mug is full and plenty heavy. I usually have to push the mug down and listen for the click. And this makes me worry that, at some point, it may not turn back off on its own. So I always check to make sure the light is off, and when I leave the house, I also unplug it. I wish they just had a simple on/off switch instead.

What a total rip-off. We spent over $100 on this items and the moment we plugged it in and it heated up (10 minutes ago), our noses were hit with the putrid smell of burning plastic. There is no plastic back or sticker on the device... something is clearly wrong with this thing. We will not use it again, and we will try to get our money back. What a complete disappointment and what a poorly made device.

I researched these coffee cup warmer and the main problem is that the heat oxidizes the coffee/tea making it unpalatable. I give credit to them, this product really heats up the tea, which I drink, to really hot temperature, almost too hot. I sent back for refund which Amazon kindly issued. And I won't ever purchase another tea warmer ever again.
