Easy to Use

Once a day:

  1. Fill the reservoir with warm water, select a tip, and click into the handle.
  2. Lean over the sink, place tip in your mouth, and turn power on.
  3. Glide tip along gumline and pause briefly between teeth, letting the water flow into the sink.

Be sure to clean the inside and outside of both the upper and lower teeth.

First let it be known that I’m working with only one arm. This pic sprayer is huge! Does it work? Ahhh yeah! It not only cleaned my teeth crevices but my nostrils, my faux lashes, my bathroom mirror and walls. Imagine a firehouse on full blast loose in your bathroom. Yes, that powerful. You can’t simply press a button to turn it off either, you have to slide a knob into the off move but one false move of your finger will give you a brain freeze.I was going to return for a much more slender pic (like a toothbrush size) but after watching a video from a review, the reviewer said to use it “with caution,” in the shower. I may give it a shot.Good luck.

They finally both died after 3 years of initial use, careful cleaning and frequent battery changes.

I still think it's a good product that does a great job at helping keep build-up at bay, together with brushing and flossing. I will buy a new one because of the travel convenience and the strong water pressure.

Moral of the story: it will crap out and is not meant to last a lifetime, but it did what it was meant for and helped me restore healthier oral hygiene.

I own two, one used twice/day at home and the other one once at work. The first one bought on Amazon, the other at a Walmart a few months later while on a trip when I realized I had forgotten my first one.

This waterpik works great and is easy to use and travel with.

The seal on one once no longer held the tank in place so buy a pack of the below and use the 7/8*3/32" o-ring (2nd from the right, bottom row on the photo of the box) and you'll be good to go again.

I've had no problems with the battery case corroding but I also don't let it sit in water which is the only thing I can think could lead to the damage some have mentioned. I also gently and carefully clean my piks with q-tips and a little white vinegar to remove scale and build-up maybe twice a year. It opens up easily and closes just fine on both units I own.

The strong pressure is great if your gums are healthy which means you really should floss too. The pik isn't an alternative to flossing but a complement. Ditto re brushing, Folks!

I've dropped both of my units by accident and they still work so I think they're pretty sturdy.

It does drain batteries but not as fast as I had anticipated. The tank isn't big but I just refill as needed. Not the end of the world to me.

What I like about this product is that it was good enough to finally change my mind and get me to start flossing. In fact, I even enjoy doing it. Do it in the shower, and as you get better at it, even do it over the sink without making a terrible mess.

I really wanted a rechargeable, but the Waterpik branded flosser that is rechargeable was just too expensive for a possible another failed attempt to floss regularly. I figured that I could pop rechargeable AA batteries in instead of the one-off alkaline AA's at some point.

Now for the bad. I do about four fills to do my mouth in a session. That is no problem. The problem is that I like a strong stream, and by day three, this unit is puffing along at a fraction of its new-battery output pressure and by day 6, it actually stalls out if you put mild pressure of tip into your gum.

By day 3, I am reading 1.34 volts on the alkaline battery and I am not happy. Rechargeable AA only come in NiMH chemistry. They start out at 1.2 volts fully charged. That is a no go.

I certainly am NOT going to throw out a set of 3 alkaline AA batteries each week that still hold 2/3rds of their charge (yes, at 1.34 volts, they still hold 2/3rds of the full charge energy store). That is wrong on every level.

So great. I need a rechargeable unit. I'll buy a rechargeable Waterpik.

Apparently, I need to spend twice as much with Waterpik. Maybe ok.

But they are still using NiMH battery technology which is SOOO retro. Lithium anyone? And they need that damn wall wart. I hate those things. Why can't I use a USB charger in 2022 when I travel. I even converted my ResMed Mini travel CPAP unit to USB power (wall or battery bank) because I hate wall warts so much.

And there it was in front of me. A non-Waterpik flosser, rechargeable, lithium battery, USB connection to charge. Twice the tank capacity:

H2ofloss Water Flosser for the same price as this non-rechargeable Waterpik.

Just tested it out. Stream is so strong I have to turn it down a few levels. I can now do my teeth in one filling, and the size/shape of unit is nearly the same size as this Waterpik non-rechargeable.

Love it.

Thanks Waterpik for innovating this technology. Sorry Waterpik, that you do not want to invest in modernizing your products and keeping up with the competition.

Any negatives with this new unit?

Did I mention that the next greatest pet peeve I have after wall warts are custom USB cables?
Yeah. Cable is a special USA-A to proprietary connector on flosser body. Why can't they just put a USB-C connector on flosser body so I can use any cable I have lying around in my travel kit?

Yep. I can live with it. It is far better than the Waterpik.

It took a few uses but I have the hang of it now. It does a good job of cleaning. I like using batteries rather than a charge cord. It takes up little space on the counter. It seems a tad heavy but not bad. The water runs out before I'm done but it's easy to quickly refill.

This is a bit too clunky. My wife used this and had to fill the tank twice each use. The battery doesn't last that long and really limits the pressure you can get out it. We bought the one that plugs into the wall and have been much happier. Personally I don't find these anymore effective than just swishing water in my mouth, but my wife disagrees. This does not replace floss. It's only useful to get food out of your teeth after eating. Again, my wife feels different, but I don't think using this instead of flossing is a good idea
