Six-outlet surge protector features a surge protection rating of 1080 joules to defend your sensitive electronic components against strong surges and spikes. EMI/RFI filtering technology filters out electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) that can disrupt your electronics and inflict hardware damage or data loss. What can I say about a Tripp Lite surge protector? Tripp Lite's surge protectors work quietly in the background to protect my electronic equipment from power surges. As far as I know, no threat to my equipment has arisen since I purchased this TRIPP LITE USB Charging Computer Surge Protector (TLP88TUSBB), but this surge protector along with the other Tripp Lite surge protectors that I own keep me confident that no power surge will damage my equipment. I've been using Tripp Lite products for years, never had any problems. Needed another surge protector after rearranging the office, and thought the moveable usb hub was a cool feature. Clipped the usb hub to the back corner of my wife's desk, which was easy enough as it is a simple clamp design, and so far she loves having such easy access to so many usb ports.

The only complaint I have about this product is how hard it is to get things plugged in, I mean physically. I don't know if this is a design choice or just the unit I received but physically plugging cords in to this thing is a workout. At first I thought there was maybe some feature to seal or lock off the outlets you aren't using, but I couldn't find anything that confirmed that. Trying to plug in the power cord for the pc and monitor felt like I was going to break or bend the prongs. I grabbed a spare plug to try again as I didn't care if this one broke or not and it still took a significant amount of force. After successfully getting something plugged in to one of the outlets however, it is much easier to plug things in after and feels like a normal outlet. I went ahead and did the work to plug and remove something from each individual outlet so that it is easier to use them in the future. If I wasn't around I honestly don't think my wife would've been able to use this simply becuase of how much force it took to get anything plugged in. Taking a star off for how much difficulty I had connecting things initially.

Also, the above complaint does not apply to the usb outlets which function just fine and gave me no problems.

The regular plug in slots are good but I mainly got this for the faster USB charging. With 3 devices charging in the USB slots it didn't skip a beat. It charges roughly 3 times faster than the old first run USB surge protector ones.
