Product Description

Support your patio umbrella without worrying about cracking and fading. For more than 20 years, US Weight has designed and produced quality innovations made in the United States of America. The US Weight Umbrella Base is crafted with a U.V. stabilized polymer that will not rust or dent and can withstand the elements in any weather climate. The base accommodates 1" and 1.5" poles and should be used with a patio table. This base can either be prefilled with 50 pounds of a solid concrete core or empty and ready to be filled with sand or gravel. The umbrella base can easily be transported or relocated using the EZ Grip handle. The umbrella bases come in a variety of colors and prefilled or empty options.

I like a lot of things about this umbrella stand. Based on other reviews, I purchased the 50 lb pre-filled stand, and I'm glad I did. I'm pleased with how it holds the umbrella, and the bronze color goes nicely with our patio furniture. However, just a few weeks into receiving and using the stand, it began leaking a white gunk from the fill spot. (Remember, this was pre-filled; I didn't fill it.) I don't know why or what it's leaking; I'm assuming some type of concrete. I also don't know how to contact the manufacturer about it, or even what they would do. In any case, I give it 4 stars for functionality and looks, and minus 1 star for leaking white gunk.

So opted for the concrete filled base that weighs 50lbs thinking it would hold my 5ft (small) umbrella. Still flew over but worth a try. Need to get a mesh umbrella, the solid cloth umbrellas will take about 100lb weight but will still be unreliable. From years of experience with umbrellas the mesh is the sure way to go unless you plan on closing it after every use.
