In real life, coal doesnt light on fire if you rub it. It will just give you dirty hands that way. You need to light it first. The point wasnt to be realistic anyways. Its minecraft. You craft armor out of diamond gems, you make perfectly baked cookies without baking it at all, you make cake, the texture of which has berries on it even though there are no berries in the recipe or the game, and the cows in the game have udders AND horns. Its not meant to be a hyper realistic game. This mod is not meant to turn it into a hyper realistic game. Its meant to turn minecraft into what it was originally supposed to be, and originally, torches were supposed to be lit with flint and steel.
The cave floods shouldnt lag out your game. They dont lag mine, and i have a laggy as all heck laptop. If you are getting lag, try to decrease particals, reduce your view distance, and try to play with your max fps. Hope this helps.
This thing still being worked on? I'm really enjoying this so far. I'm not sure if this is multiplayer compatible, but i'd really love to see it added or confirmed that it has that.
At step six I went to advanced and then added minecraft jar and for step eight I just did %appdata% went to .minecraft then assets and put it in, nothing has changed to my game. Can you assist me?
This is a great mod! My only problem is that there are some EXTREME frame-rate drops when there is a forest fire. And for whatever reason the forest fires are starting naturally and there is no way to contain them due to their spreading. I've just started a new world and 5 mins into it my frame-rate drops from ~300 to about 5. I found out that I can fix the problem by lowering my render distance, however it looks ugly because I am used to having it to about 10 whereas I had just dropped it to about 5. Other than the frame-rate issue this is a great mod; I can honestly say this is probably one of the best mods I've played in a while.

I wonder if somehow you could bring back the old beta 1.7.3 ish terrain generation. I'd love to play this on some old classic seeds like Gargamel, Glacier, and worstseedever!
You should make Peaceful Mode just Easy Mode but without the hunger, I wanted to fight monsters without having to deal with hunger..unless disabling the hunger bar causes bugs, then you can just forget about my idea.
+PixelPekki On the main page of the mod it said that one of the more hardcore features of the mod is that beds dont act as spawnpoints. This is an intentional rework.
I tried playing both downloadable versions and I can't even do that because it's extemely laggy (and no, it's not my PC, it can run Minecraft perfectly fine with 200fps). World generation is super slow and physics don't work correctly when lagging.
Messing with the options doesn't improve anything. :|
+Tinolino456 It isnt your computers fault, the problem is the version of the mod (1.7.10) is extremely laggy without optifine. Couple that with the new features like changed up lighting and increased monster spawn, and you have yourself one heck of a lagfest. I have requested before, and I will ask again for AlexCrish to remake the mod as a forge mod for 1.8. That would be awesome. In the meantime, just set your render distance to the lowest possible number, turn off ANYTHING that you dont absolutely need like animated textures, reduce the particles, play on easy mode so not so many monsters spawn and the game lags less, ect. Stay away from forests, as the forest fires will DESTROY your PC.
I dont think thats a bug, Im pretty sure its an easter egg referencing villagers. Its like the villagers have sneaked into the village and are scoping out the place so they can take over. xD
+fixedsyslabs Doesnt the normal way work? Keep in mind that there are two types of infected pigmen: Zombie Pigmen that you find in the nether and are naked except for the thing on their waist, and Zombie pigman villagers that are created when a zombie kills a pigman villager. These pigman villager zombies have a leather tunic on to make them look different. You can cure the pigman villager zombies, but not the zombie pigmen from the nether.
Put one wheat in the crafting table. It makes dough. Now make bread with the dough.

I was actually wondering the same thing. Here's hoping it is still being worked on, because its an amazing mod.

(And I just realized that Hunger is optional.)
Is there any way I could install this mod with OptiFine? The game crashes everytime I try to launch those 2 mods together.

+Creeper531 I have tried as well, with no luck. I dont think there is any way to run the mod and optifine together.
Please Add Adaptation Forge and LiteLoader Please, THX
Is There a way to make a Server?
