Is there any way we can get a crafting recipe for the hearts? I've been trying to make my own, but I can't figure it out. I was thinking of making it a balanced recipe so you would have to gradually increase over time. Something like...
Problem is, whenever I do a playthrough, I very rarely actually FIND these dungeons. The 1 time I did find a dungeon in my current world (All diamond gear by now) was one that was revealed from the surface because it spawned below sand, and the sand then fell into it, creating a noticeable square hole deep in the ground. And even then, the whole dungeon only contained 3, so no progress was made. In addition, heart pieces do not spawn in Nether dungeon chests, desert shrines, or the Stronghold chests (and likely jungle shrines aswell, though I haven't found that) meaning there's no guarantee you'll ever actually find the fairies or heart pieces to offset the nerfed start health.
That aside, I do love this mod. It's perfect for people who use a bunch of different mods all at once to create a longer and more difficult experience. It's just, as of now, in an unreliable state of use given randomness of world generation.
Try adding Rogue-Like dungeons and Doomlike Dungeons. Both are fantastic mods that add loot and adventure into your world I've found several heart containers in them! Also, if your clever, you can tweak the items in the Battle Towers mod.

I'm not too sure if I like the idea of that, it sort of ruins the whole idea of the mod.
I think theres a config option to change the amount of starting hearts, so if you wanted to change it to the default you would have in vanilla and build upon that, thats fine. Then you won't have to worry about the nerfed starting health.
If I ever decide to actually build more 'content' into it, I would definitely add more ways that are 'less random' to gain hearts.

Hi, first i would like to thank you about this amazing mod! And then, i don't know if you already answered this before (if so sorry but too many post before) so, the quarter heart's spawn rate is 10 to default; 10% or what? Thanks in advance.
10 means it picks a random number from 1-10. If it is 1 then it will spawn a heart.
50 means it picks a random number from 1-50. I hope this clears it up!
Had a somewhat of an AI bug for you to look into when you get the chance, the fairies seem to be suicidal and like getting themselves caught in the fountain's water and drowning.
While it would be nice to see them appear in all types of overworld chests, though you could always get a mob loot mod and make it where basic mobs have a very rare chance of dropping a heart piece.
Also, Withers do drop full containers so you could grind them if you got the chance.

Hello I've been playing with this mod for a few days now and I've noticed that when I take damage I Don't get the 4-per-heart health thing. At first I thought it was just that the mobs were hitting me harder/not hard enough. I have not seen the 3/4 or the 1/4 heart on my health. I also seem to take the same damage just with less hearts and no nat-regen. other than that my armor is a space above from it's normal spot when I have 10 or less hearts.
Also Idea for the mod an ocarina to turn off rain or change time of day. It would seem to fit. make them a chest spawn only. Although I don't know how hard it would be to mod.

Oh and before I forget another bug was that If you install the mod and play in a world you already started you keep the 10 total hearts. (and the floating armor bar XD) So If you add this mod to a world already started with the bug I said before It becomes a normal game with just more hearts to gain and fairies. I mean hey it's not bad! But also not much of a challenge and that's what I love about this mod! I hope you keep updating it, It's just so awesome!
Is the hunger removal configurable and what's the max # of hearts you can get with this, is it any more than vanilla minecraft?

i would love this mod if you could turn off the removal of the hunger system. it kind of nullifies a huge part of minecraft. i just want the heart system , and the fairy fountains.
can you change this in the config?
Throwing it out there real quick. The mod does not work on Multiplayer servers. Installing this mod on the server will crash it.
I have the same problem. I am using Forge 1291. no other ui-changing mods installed. The mod is great in single player. Need any further info let me know, I can produce crash logs on demand.

Well I just got back from my holiday and since christmas is coming it is getting pretty busy. I will work on it though!
