Playing a SP succession game on 1.5k max / 0 min and the results seem good so far! I've died maybe a dozen times, and am having a blast.
I had one observation I wanted to run by you. I play with only '1 life' for each of my miners, and often when I die it is at night. So when my new miner spawns, he always has to spend the night hiding in the dark in a sad little cave. This can be a problem in vanilla minecraft as well, but at least in vanilla you can build near your spawn or mark it at least, helping you get to at least a lit temporary shelter to wait out the night. :blink.gif:
It can be exciting to try to survive the night with your unfortunately timed new spawned miner, but I think it would be awesome if the mod was able to set the time to morning as though you just started a new world each time you respawn. That way each new spawned miner starts the same way without having to have some start off immediately with a big (dark) challenge.
I tried using the Single Player Commands mod to set the time to day which helps the problem, but this causes thirst and hunger to drop, as well as pushing time forward so the game (and the mod) think your character has been around longer than he has, thus causing your tombstone to report that your miner lived longer than he really did. It also feels a lot like cheating, which it really is. :tongue.gif:
I should mention I play on hard with the survivalcraft and Mo'creatures mods, so maybe the danger at night is a little more for my miners than most would have to deal with. Also, I run a fair amount of mods and Survivalism seems to be running perfectly fine with them installed also. I can provide a list of mods I use you haven't mentioned in your post if you'd like to add them as 'reported working' :smile.gif:
Could the creator of this mod please be so gentle to listen to compatibility whishes? It's not like you couldn't do it or your mod is so popular you don't need to react. This is still incompatible with the most major mods, except Millenaire, so I'm staying with Xies Hunger Mod.
I suggest making your own "more stackables" mod, integrated into the Survivalism mod.
I'm actually well aware but I've been focused on getting the mod itself running smooth. I'd therefore appreciate it if you'd be careful what you accuse me of. Compatibility patches will start coming out soon enough.

Yeah that's a tricky one because of the way the needs monitors are tied to world time. I imagine I'd have to create a special case where it advances time, then resets the needs. Should be doable, so look for it in the next version.
i was having problems with SP succession game- but am now playing on 1.5k 1/4 and its working fine with latest version..love it
have to say i humbly disagree with the above comments - i play with one life also on hard and like the fact that if i die at night the respawn appears at night etc etc ... it leads to all kinds of fun/stress trying to survive...its a nice contrast to the secure little world you were just in...
i would like to see torches go out over time and especially in the rain.......
thanks again v frog- really appreciate your work
I'm glad things are working better now, and I genuinely appreciate your appreciation. :smile.gif:
Hold on... I followed the instructions in the Modding Tips & Tricks thread to obtain a crash report. Is Minecraft supposed to blackscreen like it does when I run it normally only with a crash report in the cmd window? Because it ends up just starting the game for me sans mods, even Xau's HD texture patch is undone and the game is back to vanilla leaving me and high and dry without a crash report. Is this supposed to happen? And if so, where on earth do I pull the report from to post in the thread?
Edit: Upon reflection, I feel like I'm missing something glaring obvious. Some simple instruction that's slipped my weary mind. If this is the case I am going to feel such a fool... I may have to play the game without mods or textures for a week just to teach myself a lesson.
Gwahahaha, it seems that it was using the backup .jar that MCpatcher creates instead of the actual .jar.

Now, I'm a layman when it comes to computers. All I know about Java is that trying to increase the allotted memory gives me a headache, as does all these strange symbols.
But, am I correct in assuming that "Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 240 is already occupied by FCBlockLens@aea710 when adding BlockSoulShrine@5a2eaa" means that the Soul Shrine is clashing with whatever "FCBlockLens" is from the Better Than Wolves mod? If so, how would I go about correcting it?
Just wanted to post and let you know that your mod is just BRILLIANT!!!! I now
have Survivalism, Somnia, ExtendCraft and Xie Farming.
They all work together perfectly with Somnia allowing me to sleep, Xie Farming
giving me food and wheat for energy bars and then extendcraft to get me better
weapons and tools.
Keep up the good work VoodooFrog, this mod is getting better all the time.
Cheers,
TG

Wow, I wasn't sure if this would be complicated to implement or not but I'm very pleased you have an idea how to implement a fix, thanks! You should add a donate button, I'd use it! :biggrin.gif:

Hmm... I definitely understand what you're saying here. Maybe a new option in the mod options for 'Reset Time On Spawn' 'On/Off' would be best?
Just wanted to add this is by far my favorite Minecraft mod. Thank you once again for your work and your activity on the forums.
So I just got this today.. and for some reason the bar that shows the stats on screen, where it says you need water, food, and rest.. that area.. it won't show up.. did I put something in wrong? how do I get it to work? It says It's all downloaded, I can make waterskins, and drink and eat, it tells me I'm not thirsty, but I can't see the little bar that says how much more I need.. or how much I am dying... help!
I'm not sure how you can download a mod to the mc patcher.. when that only works with graphics for one... I patched it.. and yeah.. not working... Can you be a bit more detailed?

i think what he is trying to say is just open a fresh minecraft.jar (winrar or unzip and re zip on mac whatever floats your boat and OS) and throw in modloader and mod proprtys into it and then add the survivalism files delete the meta-inf folder and rezip (unless you use winrar then just close it) and run with it :biggrin.gif:
A wikia would be nice. Maybe you could add a suggestion area of the wikia, that maybe you could actually occasionally stop by? Millenaire and AdventureCraft's suggestion areas are never looked at by their respective creators. :/ You seem more active and perfectly capable of looking at suggestions, of course, you wouldn't have to, but it'd be a revolution to have a modder that actually looks at his mod wikia's suggestions. :wink.gif:
I would suggest, but I have to let my ideas come together first.

See, that's what I did! And I have no idea what they are talking about with the download it straight through mc patcher, because that's only for patching in texture packs that don't work!( I know this because I had to do that with one that I had a while back, so I had mc patcher) So.. I have no idea what you all are talking about! I tried to put it in manually, and it's only one small problem
The icons on the side, that show how hungry/thirsty/tired you are, won't show up... I can make all of the things the mod lets you make, I can view it in the mod menu thing, says I have it.. but the icons won't show up..

ouch Hmmm.. well its beyond me >_> to be honest ive never used mc patcher so i didnt know what it did lol what OS are you running ?
Just a quick update to let folks know that I'm going to be pretty unavailable for the next few days as I'm moving house. I'll get back on track with everything once that's over with.
Ok awsome mod !
The only problem is it isnt 1.7
So i think it will be i will not troll :mellow.gif:
Also i have a question:
Does the Death / Water / Food / Energy
Also works on Multiplayer?
Or only singleplayer?
Sorry if this is a stupid question :sad.gif:
