I've looked through a few pages and I can't find any info on it.
Will the mod work on a SMP server? The main purpose or removing rain - it has habits of killing the server if we have a fair few amount of people on it.
I would imagine it only removes the images/particles and the sound. (correct me if i'm wrong) It should have nothing to do with the other players on the server. To put it short, you just wont see the rain when others will.
OptiFog Experimental with Background Chunk Loading v8
The dual core can be operated. Thank you.
The following content is demands for optimization.
The temporal variation of the block is produced with the call of "UpdateTick()" of "Block.java" method.
In the operation of default, it is 19×19Chunk around me.
This processing is very heavy, and FPS is made unstable.
Please prepare the setting to enable this load to be decreased.
The place where this operation is changed is "Byte byte0 = 9;" sentence in "UpdateBlocksAndPlayCaveSounds()" of "World.java".
When this is changed, changing the range of Chunk to call "UpdateTick()" becomes possible.
Edit:
An informal version to adjust the above-mentioned method and some is made public without permission.

You know, it's very rare that a single entity can be so awesome, critical, terrible, or otherwise important (in some way) that it actually causes me to join an entire forum just so I can say something about it.
Today, you have forced me to join the Minecraft forum simply so that I may thank you for fixing this accursed ******** I've been dealing with ever since I started playing Minecraft again three weeks ago after a year long absence.
The lag spike is gone, my game runs faster than ever, and it looks fantastic. You, my friend, are one of the greatest people in this community to have fixed the issue. Even with all of the other awesometastic mods and modders out there, this one fix is so simple and yet so epic and impacting that you are probably my favorite of them all. Why is that?
I think it's because no matter how awesome of a mod I can find, it becomes ruined by the torturous L.S.O.D that, while slowing my game down quite a lot, also finds a way to constantly make my keys stick... which in turn causes me to run head-first into marauding creepers, makes it impossible to dodge skeleton arrows, forces me to go suicidal off of tall ledges or pitfalls, and pretty much screw my entire life up (figuratively speaking). And you fixed ALL OF IT in one fell swoop.
I love you.
Now, with every divine compliment, there must be the opposing criticism. Today, I present you with this ****:
An interesting little glitch that occurs when I switch around certain options in the OptiFog / OptiMine mod.
It's completely fixable by exiting the game (doesn't matter how) and coming back... well, for me it is.
So far, I can consistently reproduce the (bug? glitch?) by switching the 3D Anaglyph On and Off. I can only reproduce the bug if I exit and enter the game again after making the bug already happen.
Example: I switch 3D Anaglyph on, problem occurs. I exit game, reenter, and problem is fixed. I can switch 3D Anaglyph back and forth all I want, but it won't happen again. However, if I exit and enter the game again and switch that very option afterwards, the bug WILL HAPPEN EVERYTIME I repeat this process, I've tested it many, many times in a row.
Last thing to report is that the bug can happen several times over and over again without exiting and coming back twice like described above if I can make it happen with a DIFFERENT option. So, for example, if I switch 3D Anaglyph on, cause the bug, leave game, come back, I can't make it happen again with 3D Anaglyph, but I can if, say, Preloaded Chunks is switched on / off (which is one of the options that it has happened with).
Welp, that's all I got. About the bug, I can fix it consistently by exiting and coming back like I said above, but I don't know if the same rule would apply for someone else that encounters this problem. It could break games and forever distort the GUI or something, I dunno. So it might be worth looking into.

I am not able to reproduce the bug.
I have seen a lot of broken textures, but none like this. I suppose it is caused by the GPU driver.
Setting the option "3D Anaglyph" causes only a texture refresh. The options "Mipmap Level" and "Mipmap Type" also cause a texture refresh and should also trigger the bug.

i get the same bug the same way. There are numerous options that cause it to happen not just the 3d anaglyph.

The 19x19 chunk update in World.updateBlocksAndPlayCaveSounds() is called by onTick() and is shown in the lagometer as white lag.
This lag is usually small and not causing any problems.
To test if it makes a difference please compare the FPS in the game and in the menu (ESC).
In the menu onTick() is not called and the white lag is missing. A debug screenshot will be nice.
ERRRRRR i use a mac and right now with minecraft i get on (vanilla minecraft) 70FPS but i get RANDOM lagspikes where it drops down to 20 play able but annoying now i am not the only one with this problem CHECK the minecraft wiki optimine+optifog makes minecraft much smoother for me and the lagspikes arent as dramtic only like 35 to 30 fps

Google stranlate allows you to express your gratitude in multiple random languages that I won't remember so don't both asking what languages I used. I do know i did chinese korean and yidish though(Yidish is an awesome name).
Edit: I have youtube in the backround!! You must secretely be playing a sadistic joke on the people who havn't found this! Im going to making that 4x4 farm with 5 storys AND go cave exploring WITH normal fog on and not tiny thanks to you! >=DDD
WHATS HAPPENING!? I downloaded everything right and it runs great! For about 5 minutes!!! then it does a super lag spike that glitches the game and i have to close everything and start it back up! I had 9 diamonds with me and when i glitched and then came back in it had brought me back in time so instead of standing on obsidian i was in the LAVA?!! Anyone help please????????
You might be installing one of the 2 wrong. I'm running Optimine + Optifog, Mo' Creatures and quite a few other mods and everything is running fine for the most part.
If I'm installing them wrong I don't know how. I can get it to work with one or the other installed (along with a number of other mods) but when I have both installed I black screen.
I have merged the cv.class from optifog+optimine HD_B 1.7.3 with the cv.class from wildgrass.
So you can now use the Bettergrass feature from Optifog together with all WildMods (tested with WildGrass and WildTallGrass).
For everyone, who is interested, here is the download: http://www.mediafire.com/?o2i7w56octcfch7
Oh, thank you so much.
sp614x, could you please provide merged dk.class and n.class for your mod and Dynamic Lights? Mod's full source is in archive along with the mod itself, so it shouldn't be a big deal.
Am I the only one that actuality get lower/decreased FPS with this mod (OptiFog + Optimine 1.7.3_HD_:cool.gif:? This has helped before but I get more lag with it than without it.
Sad because I like the brightness slider and the better looking fog.

In all honesty, I would donate $5 or $10, but I actually need every penny I can get right now (on my way to college, I'm only in an entry level job, and I don't have much money). However, once my entry level status is up and I actually have some real pay coming in... and I get my student grants and loans... I will most definitely donate some funds your way :smile.gif:
As for the bug, I'm not sure what to tell you. All I can say is that I, personally, can recreate the bug every single time. I may consider creating a small video of it... just so you can see what happens and how it happens. Would that be a good idea? Or should I just forget about it? If it's simply an issue with my computer and what it can do, then I'm not too worried... as long as it's fixable whenever it happens :smile.gif:

Have you played around with all of the extra settings that OptiFog adds to your video options menu? This is a mod that is designed to give you the most control over your video settings, much more than vanilla minecraft.
If your computer can't handle the defaults with all of the new additions (I believe "better grass" is defaulted on, which adds the grass texture on all sides of most dirt blocks for rolling green hills), then simply turn stuff off and turn some settings to "Fast" instead of "Fancy" or "Dynamic".
If you don't mind sacrificing some looks for functionality, it shouldn't be much of a problem. You can even turn off animations for things like water, lava, fire, smoke, and more! It's a totally malleable mod.
And is 90% sure that the problem lies in Optimine. I've been using Optimine for a long time, but I've been dissapointed when this happened. So is it possible for this to be fixed?
I would uninstall the external Bettergrass mod and use the in-game one from this mod. I had the same problem and it worked perfectly after i did that.

Great job, sp614x. Haven't had any issues with this one yet. My Macbook Air is running the game perfectly with this.

Basically here's what happens when you have Optimine:
All the words are jumbled up, mixed everywhere, random numbers in them.
And without Optimine:
All fine, perfect and wonderful!
I've already posted in the Texture Pack's Thread which is found here:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/376784-128x64x17-sphax-purebdcraft-wip-060-300611/
And is 90% sure that the problem lies in Optimine. I've been using Optimine for a long time, but I've been dissapointed when this happened. So is it possible for this to be fixed?
IIRC there was once an issue with Modloader that caused HD fonts to show up like that.
EDIT:
For a temporary workaround, try using MCPatcher and unchecking "HD Fonts". Then install Optifog.
It's Optimine that I use, I don't really have a feel for Optifog.
So all I need to do is un-check the "HD Fonts" box in MCPatcher, correct?
