Jersey City Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, has appointed Deepak Singh, MD, as the hospital’s new Division Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Surgical Director of Advanced Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support. As the only full-service cardiac center in Hudson County, Jersey City Medical Center continues to lead in providing comprehensive heart, vascular, and thoracic care, ensuring access to the most innovative treatments and a broad multidisciplinary network of specialists.
As part of the network of providers with RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, Dr. Singh, a distinguished cardiac surgeon with over 23 years of experience, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in adult cardiothoracic surgery, including high-risk, complex procedures such as aortic aneurysms and dissections, mitral valve repair, and TAVR. Most recently, Dr. Singh served as the Surgical Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and the Interim Director of Cardiac Surgery at Deborah Heart & Lung Center.
A New Jersey native, Dr. Singh completed his medical degree at Philadelphia’s Temple University Medical School, general surgery training at Morristown Memorial Hospital, and a cardiac surgery fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
