Today is #INWED24 – Celebrating women engineers across the globe, like Crystal M., a first year Engineering Leadership Program participant out of Massachusetts. “When I was younger, I fixed computers for many people in my family, it was a cheaper alternative than going to a repair shop at the time. I always loved diagnosing and figuring out what issue(s) lied in a broken computer, and how to remedy it,” said the Rochester Institute of Technology alumna. “Women today are included in most, if not all, of engineering project occurring today, with the inclusion of women in engineering we are able to create better and more efficient systems today. #INWED #WomenInSTEM #WomenInEngineering

We are celebrating women engineers like Drue D. for International Women in Engineering Day! This science fair-winning gal in STEM has been with GD Mission Systems for nearly three years. “I enjoy the problem solving, and iterative design aspects of engineering. It is exciting to build something yourself, then find new ways to improve it and ultimately see it work in the end," said Drue, a Manufacturing Leadership Program participant out of Pittsfield, Mass. "My favorite part of engineering is how it allows people to pursue their curiosity and discover new things in the world. One of the most rewarding aspects of engineering is collaborating with people, it challenges your ideas and allows you to grow in ways you wouldn’t expect." #INWED #WomenInSTEM #WomenInEngineering #EnhancedByEngineering

General Dynamics Mission Systems team members attended the Strategic Deterrent Coalition (SDC) Symposium earlier this May. “The SDC focuses on educating our nation on the importance for the U.S. to have a credible and reliable deterrent, especially in today’s global geopolitical environment. This event is another great opportunity to connect our people with the mission they serve,” said Mike Beltrani, vice president, Strategic Mission Systems at General Dynamics Mission Systems.   Special shoutout to Allison Mead, product manager at GD Mission Systems, who shined on the Young Professionals in Industry panel. Allison emphasized the importance of encouraging young talent to innovate, rather than instructing them to merely address obsolescence. She added, when leadership allows talent to innovate new modern capabilities, it excites them, and will help with workforce retention.
