New Orleans Saints: Fun With Schedule Pages

Welcome to Mobile Mondays with YinzCam. 📲

Each Monday, we'll bring you a success story in the space of mobile apps for sports and live events. We'll share how our clients inspire us with their creativity, and dive into a data nugget, a user experience, a best practice, a client case study, a product launch, or a milestone. 🚀

In this series, Fun with Cards, we pick a specific type of card from our platform and showcase different visual styles for that card in the wild. In this edition, we feature the New Orleans Saints app and their schedule cards.

When freestyling is done right, the card tells a story. Each card becomes more than just a card—it's an asset for sponsorship, scoring, storytelling, and more.

The New Orleans Saints have taken their schedule page and infused it with some really terrific elements that give the page a fun feeling; for example, the Saints add an image of Caesar's Superdome to indicate a home game.

In addition to adding a background image of Caesar's Superdome to differentiate home and away games, the schedule cards also inform fans whether it is preseason or regular season and display the week, date, and time for kickoff. Of course, the card also shows the opponent's logo and, underneath the logo, fans can find information on where to watch the game on TV and have the option to buy tickets and preview the matchup.

The schedule is one of the most used pages of the app. As with all other dynamic cards in our platform, the Schedule Card has multiple freestyling options, including card background image, tint colors, border radius, and more — as seen in the New Orleans Saints app.

Throughout the season, our teams can also use our card freestyling to indicate games won, games lost, and upcoming unplayed games. Additionally, if a team is playing an international game, they can convey that within the schedule card as well. These clubs also incorporate home-game sponsors and away-game sponsors into every Schedule Card background, turning the Schedule Card into a ready asset for gameday sponsorship.

It's been remarkable to watch clubs like the New Orleans Saints transform the Schedule Card into more than just a schedule—it's now a sponsorship asset, an international game indicator, a scoring tool (to denote wins and losses), and can be a reflection of the team's gameday uniform.
