Jitterbit’s Message Queue Service, built into Harmony, is a cloud-based, multi-tenant message queue service that provides an easy way to create and manage message queues, takes away all the underlying complexity of configuring and managing the backend infrastructure of message queues, and simplifies the management of complex, automated business workflows to support asynchronous processing. The benefits and capabilities of Jitterbit’s MQ Service include: - Guaranteed delivery: native capability utilizing explicit ‘acknowledgments’ or dedicated retry queues - Asynchronous APIs: 202/Accepted response along with a tracking ID (paired with a synchronous API to retrieve the payload once ready, and/or a webhook to be notified once ready) - Message throttling: ability to cope with peaks in transactional volume while safeguarding against backpressure & honoring downstream system constraints - Push Queues: Listen to (poll) specific queues and send push notifications to drive even

The IBM MQ Q Utility (Q for short) is a veritable pocket knife of features, allowing many of the common tasks when interacting with messages on queues or topics, to be done from this single tool. Q is a simple pipe line program which takes messages from one source and outputs to a target. The operation of the 'pipe' is controlled by switches to the program. The source and target can either be the console, a file, or an IBM MQ Queue. In addition, since input/output can be taken from stdin/stdout these can also be simple files. Two instances of Q can therefore be used to implement a primitive file transfer program.
The Queue Load / Unload Utility for IBM MQ (QLOAD for short) allows the user to copy or move the contents of a queue, its messages, to a file. This file can be saved away as required and used at some later point to reload the messages back onto the queue. Messages can be copied or removed from a queue based on various selection criteria such as position in the queue, content of messages or message properties or the age of the message.
