The older I get the more I realize how unimpressive my own birthday is… I turn 31 today and all I can really think is… Nice. Another year survived on earth. Now, maybe that’s a bit cynical, but hear me out. — In reality, other celebrations are far superior. Here are 3 celebrations that I would say are worth celebrating more than adult birthdays. Your kids birthdays! - You actually kept another human alive and trained them up for another year. That’s a celebration worth having! Wedding Anniversaries! - This might be the biggest thing to celebrate. For anyone who is married or has been married, you know how much effort, communication and work it takes. It’s the greatest journey, but can be a challenging one when two imperfect people commit to each other for the rest of their lives. Celebrate this at every opportunity! Work anniversaries! - These are something that I’m extremely proud of. To grind, work and succeed year after year at a job takes effort, determination, and faithfulness, teamwork, grit and a whole host of other things. This is absolutely worth celebrating! Don’t get me wrong, birthdays are great and all it takes work to thrive and grow year after year, but these three are harder imho. What else is on this list? I’m sure I’m missing some.

🎂 Reflections on the joint birthdays 🎉 The past few days have been filled with celebrations, family gatherings, and the joys of shared birthdays. My sister and I, born a year apart, continue to amuse friends and family with our joint birthday celebration. Behind the jokes lies a deeper story, perhaps too intricate for this post. I'd like to share a few reflections from this special time. Lesson #1: Letting go As my niece took charge of planning her mother's 50th birthday celebration, I found myself navigating a shift in roles. Weeks of meticulous planning and countless discussions (lists upon lists and daily video calls) led to a moment of realization—I had to relinquish control. It wasn't easy, and I stumbled along the way. But amidst the chaos, I learned the importance of allowing space for growth and evolution. The reins we hold are borrowed, adorned with the jewels of our efforts. Yet, they must be passed on. My niece's dedication and tireless efforts highlighted the beauty of succession. She orchestrated not one, but two parties to surprise her mom, showcasing resilience and love in the face of exhaustion. In reflection, her accomplishment was nothing short of remarkable. It served as a poignant reminder that true leadership lies in empowering others to shine. Watch out for the upcoming series of posts which reflects on the lessons of this time . #Reflections #BirthdayCelebration #Family #LeadershipLessons

When's your birthday? 🎂 Do you remember the day you made your grand entrance into the world? Well, I'd love to know when that was. But I have a fun little twist! Let's play a game: Instead of telling me your exact birthdate, let's get creative. Write a 2-line story using the photo post below, and I'll try to guess your birthdate 🥳 Here's how it works: ⭐ Start your story with your birth year. (skip it if you want) ⭐ Choose a word that matches your birth DATE from the first column. ⭐ Pick a word that matches your birth MONTH from the second column. ⭐ Select a random word from the third column. Pick one character, setting, and object from each of the columns. I am super excited to read your creative stories and guess your special day! 😀 Mine is in the first comment. Go, figure it out. P.S. - You could highlight the main words to make it a little easier for me. 😉

Contemplating the celebration of birthdays and the New Year, one cannot escape the inexorable march of time. Time, ceaseless and impartial, propels us forward, drawing us closer to an inevitable destination – our mortality. The uncertainty of life's duration adds a poignant depth to the passing years. Consider, for instance, the festivities surrounding birthdays. As the calendar marks another year, it is a reminder not only of the passage of time but also of the finite nature of our existence. The prospect of drawing nearer to the unknown, where one's journey might conclude, can imbue these celebrations with a subtle undertone of reflection. Similarly, the advent of a new year is often met with jubilation and resolutions. Yet, when viewed through the lens of life's fragility, it unveils a paradox. While it signifies new beginnings, it concurrently underscores the progression towards an uncertain endpoint. Imagine if, in the tapestry of destiny, one's appointed time of departure is foretold. Whether it be at 24, 34, or in 2024, every passing moment inches closer to that predetermined juncture. Birthdays and new years, therefore, serve as poignant markers, not solely of joy but also of a journey marching steadily towards the inevitable. In contemplating these reflections, one may find solace in embracing the present, cherishing the moments that unravel, and recognizing the profound interconnectedness between the tapestry of time and the enigma of our existence.
