In the workplace, trans people continue to experience issues such as bias, discrimination and harassment at a much higher rate than their cis peers. Many feel pressure to supress their true identities, while others lose out on job opportunities and career advancement due to systemic barriers. We welcome this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to creating a workplace in which everyone can be their authentic selves, regardless of gender identity. #TransgenderAwarenessWeek #WeStandWithTrans #Inclusivity #GenderIdentity
It’s Transgender Awareness Week, an annual observance that aims to raise visibility and promote understanding of transgender and gender non-conforming people. Celebrated from the 13th-19th November, it leads up to Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) on November 20th – a day to remember and commemorate victims of transphobic violence. In the workplace, trans people still experience issues such as bias, discrimination and harassment at a much higher rate than their cis peers.

The 2024 DIVA Magazine x Kantar survey results just dropped, delivering new data surrounding #LGBTQ+ safety and visibility, just in time for #LesbianVisibilityWeek. While 70% of LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary feel comfortable being themselves at work, 11% of LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary people still report having experienced verbal insults, with 17% of the population surveyed being subjected to physical or sexual harassment and violence. There is clear opportunity for brands to lead this current era of inclusion, with a strong commercial imperative to act – and act with authenticity. It's #TipTuesday! Mariah McGrogan provides this week's tip reminding employers to review their policies and ensure sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression are specifically identified as protected classifications: The EEOC’s recent guidance on harassment made clear that harassment of LGBTQ+ employees can violate Title VII. Employers should review their current policies to ensure that sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression are specifically identified as protected classifications under those policies. Additionally, annual trainings should include examples of conduct that could be harassment of an employee based on these characteristics. #employmentlaw #EEOC #TitleVII

🌈✨ Embracing Inclusivity with Pronouns at Work! ✨🌈 Have you noticed more people including gender pronouns in their email signatures? It’s not just a trend – it’s a powerful step towards inclusivity and allyship. 🌍💼 Here's why it matters: 1. Normalization & Support: Including pronouns helps normalize the fact that gender is not binary, making gender-expansive colleagues feel more comfortable and respected. 2. Reducing Misunderstandings: When everyone shares their pronouns, it minimizes the risk of misgendering and creates a more inclusive environment. 3. Showing Allyship: Adding pronouns to your email signature shows you’re an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, demonstrating respect and acknowledgment of diverse identities. While it’s important to encourage this practice, it should not be mandated, as the goal is to create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected. Let’s continue to promote diversity and inclusion, one step at a time. #InclusionMatters #DiversityAndInclusion #PronounsAtWork #LGBTQAlly #WorkplaceDiversity #StaffingSolutions #BeAnAlly #IntegratedStaffing

This year, anti-trans rhetoric has exploded and over 500+ anti-LGBTQ bills were introduced nationwide—many of them targeting the transgender community specifically. According to the 2015 U.S. Trans Survey, 77% of respondents who had a job took steps to avoid mistreatment in the workplace, such as hiding or delaying their gender transition or quitting their job. From adopting trans-inclusive policies to supporting gender transitions, creating a trans-inclusive workplace is critical and can be lifesaving.
