Another milestone on our way to net-zero: investing in technology to replace greenhouse gas-emitting fuels, like diesel, with carbon-neutral or zero-carbon fuels like biogas or #hydrogen in internal combustion engines.

Volvo Trucks and Westport Fuel Systems will be partners in quite a significant joint venture aimed at the future development of key powertrain components for trucks. The two partners are coming together to jointly promote, develop and further accelerate the commercialization of the HPDI technology. The joint venture will resolutely focus on moving forward affordable, sustainable transportation solutions using the internal combustion engine operating on renewable fuels now and hydrogen in the future. This week, the Dutch SWIM subsidy has opened for applications. Our free online tool allows you to see the impact of the SWIM subsidy on the total cost of ownership of a vehicle in your use case. Compare the lifetime costs of hydrogen combustion, hydrogen fuel cell and diesel vehicles with our TCO calculator: https://lnkd.in/eivUEh4w The SWIM (Subsidie Waterstof In Mobiliteit) is a subsidy scheme that promotes zero-emission transport by supporting investments in hydrogen infrastructure and vehicles. The subsidy supports investment in hydrogen refueling stations and the acquisition of zero-emission hydrogen vehicles. For heavy duty hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, the maximum subsidy amount €300.000 per vehicle. For heavy duty vehicles with a hydrogen internal combustion engine, the maximum subsidy amount is €100.000 per vehicle. This means that for the zepp.europa truck, the subsidy provides €300.000 for every vehicle acquired within a SWIM-funded consortium. This significant support makes it financially viable to adopt hydrogen technology. zepp.solutions is in close contact with developers of several projects that still have room for transporters in their project proposals. This means there are opportunities available if you want to get involved in a SWIM-funded consortium. Interesting to note that Fortescue, one of the largest mining operator in the world operating hundreds of machines is heading towards a 100% #BEV fleet replacement. Hydrogen has been dropped and was considered as not realistic neither ready before quite some time. If a company like Fortescue, one of the most advanced in term of decarbonation planning is coming to that conclusion, why do we have still so many people who think that #hydrogen has a future for small, medium and large #mobility (long haul trucking) ? #GWM_FTXT_H_Power In recent days, a batch of hydrogen-powered wing van trucks and hydrogen-powered auto carriers equipped with fuel cell systems and hydrogen storage system products from GWM-FTXT have been put into the Chinese market, opening up new application scenarios for hydrogen vehicles. 😄 Up to now, GWM-FTXT fuel cell system compatible models include hydrogen-powered towing vehicles, hydrogen-powered buses, hydrogen-powered wing van trucks, and hydrogen-powered auto carriers.
