The mission of public health is to promote safer, healthier and better-quality lives, prevent disease and injury, and ensure all individuals have the right to access all the facts, information, and knowledge available to make healthy choices for themselves, their families, and their community. In partnership with communities across the United States and around the world, the CDC Foundation works to improve health outcomes by developing effective programs and tackling systems. Health is more than the absence of disease. It is not just about surviving. It’s about thriving. This Juneteenth, let us celebrate the resilience in our communities and all reinvigorate our commitment to everyone living their healthiest life. Together, we can reinvent our systems and practices so everyone can reach a better quality of life. #Juneteenth Image Credit: National Museum of African American History and Culture.
