This is what happens when a rational person tries to explain what's wrong with polarised politics. I had never heard of Naomi Wimborne Idrissi until yesterday, but I was impressed by her moral courage, eloquence and patience in dealing with a heckler masquerading as a journalist. Instead of interrupting her and asking loaded questions, Christys should have let her speak. GB News can no longer claim to be the "Home of Free Speech" (though, after a hiatus following the firing of Dan Wootton, Lawrence Fox and the Rev Calvin Robinson, they are reclaiming their slogan: "We don't do boring"). One line in this interview sums up the lack of objectivity this interview: "Would you choose to live in Israel under Hammas?" This kinds of "Yes or No" question is an example of bullyboy tactics and bad-faith questioning. The interviewee reacted calmly and rationally. I would not have been so restrained; I would have suggested that, if Patrick Christys wanted to play Silly Hypothetical Buggers, he should answer this question: "If you were a British Jew who disagreed with the Israeli regime, would you like to be a member of Keir Starmer's Labour?" Of course, the atrocities in Palestine / Israel should be condemned. Innocent civilians on both sides should not be killed. In every war, lies are told by propagandists on both sides. But I believe the Israeli Government and its soldiers are the bigger terrorists here - based on Netanyahu's public threat to take "revenge" on the residents of Gaza. BTW, I have no skin in this game, except a natural concern for what's happening to my fellow citizens in the world - of all faiths and nationalities. I find it helpful to metaphorically reduce macro political issues to the microcosm of the community or the home: Israel's occupation of Palestine can be compared to a strange family moving into my own home on the grounds that they have some ancestral claim (the ancient Celts or Gaels, possibly even the Vikings), telling me to go live in the boxroom, and calling the police every time I open the door to fight back. They might maintain the house well, pay the bills, etc - but they do not acquire squatters' rights simply by moving in and securing the support of the wider community; the owner has to either relinquish their claim to the home or stop asserting their rights. The Palestinians have never stopped asserting their right to their own country. #Palestine #Israel #Labour #UK #NaomiWimborneIdrissi #GBNews

Curious about survival literature? That is, the evidence that our consciousness survives our physical body. Check out this recent interview.

Very insightful! His position on Putin's duality vs. antisemitism seems accurate. In my view, Putin IS NOT antisemitic; I was involved in a DOE-Rosatom nuclear nonproliferation program that ended in 2015, and had a chance to visit major synagogues in Moscow and St. Petersburg. in Moscow, they were "hardened" by the very visible Russian armed guards. Today's Putin is simply playing his ambitious and paranoic political game extended into a bloody war. Related-unrelated. Conjecturing a curious circle: Putin needs Iran which helps him to fight Ukraine and that is determined to destroy Israel which is protected by the US determined to destroy Iran AND, at the same time, not hurt China by destroying Iran's flow of oil to China which, while being our geopolitical adversary holds the US hand tied and prevents it from destroying Iran's oil fields along with its oil delivery capabilities... Again, a great piece, as usual... :)
