Delighted to announce Aanchal Gupta, CVP Office Product Group at Microsoft, as our second judge of the 𝑪𝒚𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒑 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒆 at the inaugural 𝑪𝒚𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝑬𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕 on Monday, May 6th 2024 during the RSA week. I have been fortunate to have interacted with Aanchal multiple times but one instance which is etched in my mind and reinforced to me why above all, our leaders need to be kind and empathetic. This was when I listened to her keynote at Microsoft Bluehat conference in Seattle where security researchers from all over the world had gathered and it was her words that made them feel listened to, that their work was important, why it is important to fight the good fight. While defense might be not be as flashy but it is more important, as when you are defending you don’t have the luxury of making mistakes while in offense you just need to get lucky once. Security is team work and everyone’s work including practitioners, developers, security partners is important and Aanchal is one of those leaders who brings out the best in everyone around her.
