The Magic of Muscat for the Central Coast Mariners Football Club and Australian Football. I was lucky enough to call the AFC Cup win back to fans in Australia with Luke Byrne on Coast-FM 963. Thanks to APL, AFG and the AFC (Asian Football Confederation).

Seven has worked since 2021 with Tim Farley and Mikayla Toy from Colliers on this relocation. Being a live broadcaster comes with its own unique set of challenges when selecting a location. Tim and Mikayla worked with Seven along the whole journey and took the time to learn more than they probably ever they thought they would about broadcast television and its requirements. An amazing effort and outcome.

Most who know me understand that I am passionate about football. But when I was told by fellow commentator Luke Byrne that our coverage was coming up to 500 A-League matches I was pretty amazed. I am very humbled to think of all the moments I have been able to witness and describe to listeners over the past 19 seasons of the A-League Men. To my co-commentators from the start (Shane Derham, Michael Kmet), current (Daniel McCamley, Luke Byrne) and now the future with the coverage of the A-League Women (Katrina Ashleigh, Gabrielle Blanch) it has been a tremendous time and long may it continue!

Congratulations to Kayla and Dylan on receiving full time roles in the Broadcast Technician and Operations Trainee program at the Seven Network. Pictured here with Andrew Anderson and myself in one of the new control rooms being built at the new home of 7NEWS Sydney at Eveleigh. Dylan and Kayla will be working here and many other areas during the program once relocation is complete. Another intake is planned for mid-year so stay tuned if you have an interest in technology and live broadcasts and want to take the next step.

I had the pleasure of being able to spend time in Manila in the office that supports Seven Network's operations. It has been 3 years since we have been able to visit in person. The senior managers that lead it Levi Myrryll Guzman, Rehna Quinones, Gennylou Laloon and Arnie Lajeras make such a strong leadership team. A real pleasure to deal with them and the entire team each day. Extra special to work side by side again.

Today I had the privilege of hosting a surprise morning tea at Seven Network Sydney for Brett Martyn to mark his 40 years with Seven. A few COVID delays saw it happen a few months late, but it was important to mark this milestone. Brett is one of the most thorough and diligent television engineers in the network, always willing to adapt, learn and teach through his career. I am hoping for many more anniversaries with Brett as an employee at Seven.

Proud to be part of the promotion of refereeing at CENTRAL COAST FOOTBALL in 2023 as we get more involved in this rewarding (and necessary) part of the game. I completed my first refereeing course in 1993 led by FIFA referee Gary Power and have never looked back. Lately each pre-season gets harder but giving up would be much harder. Many, many referees I have taken counsel from along the way including Doug Rennie OAM, Warwick Barwell, Darren Sprod, Simon Przydacz, Kristian Griffiths-Jones to name just a few. It could have been just one sentence of advice or years of mentoring, each piece has allowed me to continue to evolve with the game over 3 decades. I am always happy to talk to anyone who wants to enter and develop in this area of the game, especially how you can stay involved while developing your career outside of football.
