Subjects you need to know to succeed in an OpenVPCal Calibration: https://lnkd.in/gZbhgaTr In my recent White Balancing white paper for USC ETC, I mentioned OpenVPCal as the "complex" method for calibrating a wall to a camera. I labeled this as "complex" because if you want to calibrate your wall or display as an accurate rear projection source for your camera, I have found that it is not as user friendly as some other tools out there. However, although not as user friendly, I believe it to be the most powerful — and therefore capable — calibration tool on the market if you take the time to understand it. So, here are the critical motion picture workflow skills one needs to know to succeed: 1) Video Color Management - one must be familiar with the language and tools of video color data. It's critical to understand which color space gets chosen, when to convert it, and the tools to apply these operations throughout an entire imaging chain 2) Video Playback - one must understand how to setup monitors or LED wall displays and footage playback, especially of exr file sequences. 3) Camera Color & Exposure management - one must know some fairly advanced cinematography concepts. Ie, one must understand know how to set a proper exposure and how to apply a "clean" manufacturer camera color space to recorded footage. 4) Post Production footage management - one must know how to convert recorded camera footage into to ACES AP0 linear EXR image sequences. Each of these four steps all must work for OpenVPCal to succeed. They are, in all honesty, important concepts for anyone running a stage to understand; if you learn how to keep all these ducks in a row, you will guarantee a smooth color workflow in your rear projection setup. #virtualproduction #ICVFX #cinematography #filmmaking Thanks again to Netflix, Francesco Luigi Giardiello, & Carol Payne for this monumental effort.

Tired of mediocre video? Let's change that 🎬 | Creative Director at Oak + Rumble, Award-Winning Video Marketing Agency
Ever wonder what this thing is? 🎬 Well, it's called a clapper, and no they aren’t just for show (but they do look pretty cool). In the world of video production, things aren't always shot in the storyboarded order. Why? For a whole bunch of reasons— → All sorts of logistical challenges → Working around actor schedules → Making the process more efficient → Dealing with unpredictable weather and lighting With all these moving pieces, you need a tool to keep everything in sync and make sense of it all. Enter the clapper. This nifty device helps video editors work their magic by providing clearly labeled shots and a distinct marker to sync up all the different video and audio sources. So, next time you're enjoying a video, take a moment to appreciate the clapper. It's the unsung hero working behind the scenes, ensuring our video experiences are nothing short of extraordinary. #behindthescenes #videoproduction #videomarketing #contentcreation

✨🎥 At the core of editing compelling and cinematic videos, this technique is the most important. While this video is not fast paced with some crazy transition hack, or a cool overlay effect, learning how to incorporate it into your videos will make you a better filmmaker and begin to understand the importance of pacing and slowing down moments in your work. This video is a representation of slowing down, and letting the sound design and transitions like a J-Cut lead you through the edit 👌🏼 Enjoy a little cinematic stroll through the beautiful streets and landscapes of San Francisco 🌉🎥 #premierepro #videohacks #premiereprotips

Zero budget, no crew. Day in the Life of a Google employee. I have always been curious to see if it is possible to do something "Netflix quality" shooting solo, with no budget. I think it is. It was very empowering to understand and execute the process from beginning to end. One day shoot, five day turnaround. Title/Thumbnail -> Find subject -> Script -> Produce -> Shoot -> Edit -> VFX -> Color Grading -> Upload First of many to come 🚀 #documentary #netflix #content

As a Film Editor, having ample workspace is crucial for my productivity. That's why I have a strong affinity for my workstation, which features a 42-inch LG OLED C3 display. Yes, it's technically a TV, but it provides the perfect amount of real estate to edit true 4K content with ease. The exceptional range of colors this display delivers also enables me to achieve precise color grading within Davinci Resolve. It's a game-changer for my workflow. #ContentCreation #ProductivityBoost #LGDisplay #Davinciresolve #Editing #Video #Editing

Tell great stories, build your brand. Our films help raise millions, launch start-ups, and grow brands around world.
Before dawn - they clean the beach? How great is that. I just want to encourage everyone that you already have a great filmmaking tool in your pocket. This was shot on an iPhone 13 with the basic ‘Timelapse’ setting right in camera…. Filmmakers have many jobs beyond our big one of telling meaningful stories. We also have the power to both slow down time using slow motion and to speed up very slow moving stories using timelapse. As always, thank you for watching #digitalmarketing, #marketing, #videomarketing, #story, #storytelling, #advertisingagency, #advertisingandmarketing #sustainability #regenerativeagriculture #storytelling #story

🎥 Video Strategist | CEO at Sweeney Perspective | I help business owners grow by telling their Brand Story with video!
EUREKA! The moment the story tells itself onset >>> I live for these moments and I believe they are all thanks to the tedious planning we do for all of our shoots. Preproduction is king, for a story to unfold just how you imagine it there must be clear intentions set. These intentions are the key to going into a project with confidence. From a detailed storyboard to a simple shot list on your notes app, preproduction can take on many forms but is essential! Close your eyes and visualize your next project. Then write everything down. Getting your ideas on paper is key to a successful shoot and in explaining your intentions to your crew!
