What’s the difference between Whole Foods and Royal Farms? Not as many brands are fighting to get into Royal Farms. (And that may not be a good thing.) I got to walk into this Douglasville store before completion, but wanted to see it up and running. This large format location comes to 5,300 sqft. (Whole Foods small formats start at 7,000 sqft.) Admittedly, it’s hard to do it justice in one pic. For the record, this location boasts: -Made to order hot and cold foods. -An expanded pantry aisle. -2 sit down eating areas. -Better for You snacks. -Wider beer selection. -A fresh fruit bin. -Full wine islet. Definitely more than your casual snack shop. Would this work for every brand or product type? Absolutely not. But it is representative of how grocery is changing. It is representative of how consumer habits are changing. We would be wise to pay attention. ——— 🔹 We grow brands on Amazon. 🔹 We increase velocity in Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, Sam's, COSTCO, and lots of other cool retailers. #cpg #cpggrowth #retailgrowth #retailvelocity #omnichannel #retail #amazonagency #retailmedia #shoppermarketing #instacart #royalfarms

Data is very useful at telling you where things should be placed in store, how you should activate, what price points you should hit, how you should talk to your shoppers. That's just barely scratching the surface of the topic. Spotted this the other day instore. Unfortunately Frozen Peas were nowhere to be seen as the fin was in front of plant based foods and pizzas..... The moral of the story? You can have all the data in the world at your fingertips, but if the execution misses the mark then it doesn't matter what handy factoids I can throw at you on a Friday afternoon 😏 Shopper Intelligence ANZ #categorymanagement #insights #grocery #groceryretail #frozenvegetables #shopperinsights #shoppermarketing #instoreexperience #instoremarketing #category

The Modern Shopper Strategist: Award-winning retail & shopper expert, author, and keynote speaker. RETHINK Retail Top Expert (2023 & 2024). Decoding retail, tracking trends, and crafting sustainable strategies.
The core of retail is about providing solutions for the needs of customers. It's so important to think about providing solutions that make life easier both for the end user (the consumer) and for the chooser (the shopper). If you plan out your solutions to make it easier to choose and use those products, your customers will thank you for the effort. None of this is rocket science but it's amazing how often I walk into stores across different retail sectors and see missed opportunities by retailers to make it easier for the shopper to choose the component parts of the solutions they are looking for. If there are strong cross category links, such as meat and sauces, then why not plan for adjacencies to display (and sell) these combined solutions to the shopper. Very few of us ever plan to eat a meal with just a chicken fillet alone! This removes barriers and helps guide the shopper to better solutions for their needs. I walked into my local Dunnes Stores yesterday and they were very simply displaying 'meal solution kits'. Let's place chicken, noodles and a nice selection of complimentary sauces together and there's a strong likelihood that the shopper will thank me for the effort by buying all three, even if their intention, on the 'mealtime shopper mission' was simply to find a dinner that I can make without fuss that I will actually like to eat. Come to me with solutions not problems.... I love nothing better than seeing simple but effective retailing at play. What examples spring to mind for you where retailers are 'doing the basics brilliantly' and acting with a real 'solutions' hat on across different retail categories? Which retailers are currently 'rocking' a clear 'cross- category solutions approach' that stands out? What would you like to see more of in terms of 'cross category' solutions in your local stores? #tre #topretailexpert #pathtopurchase #shopperexperience Flick Collingwood 📈 Gavin Rothwell Dee Cunniam Brandon Rael DeAnn Campbell Marie Driscoll, CFA Ian Scott Jack Stratten Matthew Brown Bård Kvamme Aimee Connolly Peter Hyland Claire Cogan Paula Macaggi Declan Carolan Paul Lewis james wilson Suzanne Quinn (McHugh) Holly Barry Frances Higgins

Bye, bye, boring shelves of packaged goods. 👋 As the grocery industry has increasingly embraced innovation in recent years, the center store has become an area where food retailers are looking to liven up the shopping experience. From evolving their assortments to experimenting with technology and merchandising techniques, retailers are rolling out different strategies to boost product discovery and consumer education. Some are making bigger shout-outs for local products, while others, like Target and Aldi, are expanding their private brands. With the help of digital innovation, grocers are aiming to streamline the shopping process for consumers with product search kiosks, in-store video storytelling and scannable QR codes that provide more product information. H-E-B has added video tablets to educate shoppers on beer and wine brands by providing brand stories and educational information, like tasting notes and pairing suggestions. Some industry observers believe the center store will become a thing of the past in a future where shoppers order packaged goods online and shop fresh and specialty departments in-store. Whether or not that will happen, many grocers see value in refreshing those center store aisles to make shopping an activity customers look forward to rather than view as a chore. #CenterStore #Grocery #HEB #ALDI #FiestaMart #GroceryDive #Texas #Food #FoodBroker #Supermarket #CPGIndustry

According to WPP's BAV USA data, the private label category has increased in familiarity as well as perceptions of high quality, good value, and helpful over the past 2 years. Three of them stand out in our USA 2023 study: Costco Wholesale's Kirkland Signature, Walmart's Great Value, and Whole Foods Market's 365. Circana reported that Thanksgiving contributed US$2.8B uplift vs. average weekly sales last year, bested only by Christmas. This year, many retailers are offering Thanksgiving meal deal promotions. Some, including Target, BJ's Wholesale Club, and Winn-Dixie, put private brands front and center.
