It’s not even been a month yet of Amoria Bond and it feels like I’ve worked here forever🫶 Here are some of the key factors as to why I am feeling so positive and engaged about my new role 1. My team. - Being a part of a team that is collaborative is so important. We share ideas, we laugh, we celebrate wins… Helen, Jenny and Daisy-Alice have made me feel like a part of the team straight away. 2. My progression plan - After my first week I was given a clear progression plan, I know my targets and it’s made me so excited for target trips, lunch clubs, promotions. It’s given me a goal and vision. 3. My training - L&D and the TA team have been incredible with answering my questions, putting me in the right direction so that I feel confident within my daily tasks. 4. Incredible culture - An office that genuinely shows their values daily. This is something that’s important to me. I didn’t want to work somewhere that talks about their values during interviews, to then never hear about it again. I see a thriving, positive and fun culture everyday. 5. Trust and encouragement - After getting settled and an understanding of my role, I’m excited that I’m starting to show successes already. This is down to the trust and encouragement from my managers and team. I wanted to share this as if you have recently started a new role this year, you should be feeling positive and engaged after a few weeks ✨ If you want to reach out about career opportunities, feel free to message me ☺️

Transforming Team Leaders into Managers, Managers into VPs, and VPs into Executive Leaders with NLP and ICF-Certified Coaching
It was my first day in my new role. I was excited to meet the team, but hardly anyone spoke to me. I'm not sure if I made the right decision joining this team! Sighed my talent, as we started our conversation. Minutes later we explored her ability to influence in an unchartered space and focused on the controllable. Here are the questions that helped her find a direction. Try responding to these if you have moved to a new role recently or you are planning for one soon. ❓ What core values of your allowed you to accept the offer? ❓Which of these are you willing to expose to your new team? ❓What can you let go to accept new behaviors and update your beliefs? ❓Who do you need to become to receive the love, warmth and energy of your new team? ❓What can you give away to your new team to help them grow towards their fullest potential?

I've been awarded the "Best Team Player" award, but I've also heard "You don't get along with the team." Let me take you through the two different work experiences. In the first company, I was seen as a Top Performer—delivering great results, but I always felt a bit off. I'd go into team meetings feeling nervous, over-prepared, and unsure of myself. Whenever I tried to speak up, I'd get interrupted, and it felt like my voice wasn't heard. When I applied for another role internally, the manager said that he heard from my team that I wasn't a team player, which really surprised me. When I asked one of my colleagues about this what he said took me by shock, "You don't smile at me like X(another teammate of mine) when we get on a Zoom Call" Now, onto the second company—a whole different story. I still rocked at my job, but I also became a better team player (without even trying). I didn't shy away from meetings, always pitched in, and never avoided tough conversations. Took up bigger responsibilities. Plus, I made lifelong friendships that I will always count on. The big difference? Company 2 saw me for me. They created an environment where I felt comfortable being myself. Every day was exciting, and I never felt like I was just punching the clock. I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Every employee there was on the same page, and we all had each other's backs. The team shared a common value. People were not just friends but they revered each other. ----------------------------------- What did I learn from this? At Company 1, I just went through the motions, focused on hitting targets and cashing my checks. But at Company 2, I was making a difference and creating impact. Companies before you talk about hiring for "culture fit," understand that it's not just about finding people who fit in—it's about creating an environment where everyone can shine. Let's make work a place where everyone feels valued, where being yourself is celebrated, and friendships aren't forced. #culture #workplacetoxicity

I applied for a Team Lead role at my company and it hasn’t even been an entire month since I’ve started. I did not let fear take over this time. I reached out to my Team Lead and asked, “This might sound a bit crazy but I’d love to apply for the Team Lead role. Am I able to?!” He replied to me within minutes telling me to go for it. And I did. No shame in the fact that I just got out of New Hire Training. A couple things that have truly helped me when it comes to being hesitant on applying to roles that have more responsibilities or roles that I might not be ready for: 👏🏼 You are as capable as what you set your mind to 👏🏼 Do not let the fear of rejection stop you from aiming for the stars 👏🏼 You cannot grow where you’re comfortable 👏🏼 Be confident in your abilities 👏🏼 What’s meant for you, will be for you 👏🏼 Be open to feedback and learning new things I received a call this past Friday pertaining to the interview for the Team Lead role…. And guess what? They offered it to me! 🎉 Cheers to a new role, new responsibilities, and endless learning opportunities! #aimhigher #teamlead #promotion #shootforthemoon #reachforthestars #workathome #remotework #work #workculture #workforce

It’s my birthday today. And as I contemplate another year around the sun, I’ve been reflecting on my career so far. The last year has been full of ups and downs, though I’m pleased to say right now is a massive high. I’ve never felt more energized and optimistic about my work and the trajectory of our business (shameless plug: we’re hiring if you’re thinking about your next chapter). I’ve learned a lot at Edelman and wanted to share a few guiding principles that have crystallized for me over the years. - Mental and emotional energy is finite. Use wisely and expend only on the things that really matter. Figuring out what really matters is a forever WIP. Pro tip: many of the things that consume this energy at work don’t actually matter. - Bad news should travel twice as fast as good news (h/t Mario J. Cordeiro). Get ahead of it as quickly as possible. Of course, you want everyone to know about the wins. But when something goes wrong (and something will go wrong), you need your support network to problem solve with you. The faster you start this, the better off you will be. - This is a relationship business. You have to really like people (and different kinds of people) to do well in a client or people management role. Great work only occurs when you have the trust of your clients. This is a team sport and if your clients (not to mention your actual team) don’t feel like they can trust your judgement, you will never earn the permission to take risks and put something out into the world that is truly ground-breaking. - We spend a lot of time at work. Find a place full of people that are smart, driven, fun and kind - and don't take it for granted.

Every Q1, Geri Johnson and I put time on each team member’s calendar for a career chat. We discuss both career and personal goals, what excites them to come to work each day and ask for feedback on what we could be doing better to support the team. Here’s what we learned this time around: 90% of my teammates feel their work is impactful! This is music to my ears, as our mission for Next PR is to tell stories that change the world. Here’s what excites the team: Our people, our culture and the impactful work we do for our clients. Words of the year? Growth, openness, flexibility, patience, opportunity, creativity, potential, networking, resilience and progress. This brings me to my biggest takeaway: Everyone is eager to grow, no matter where they are in their careers. No one wants to feel stagnant. Having these conversations helps us gauge what’s most valuable to our team for the coming year. I’m naming 2024 the year of growth. It’s my personal goal to provide everyone with opportunities to learn new skills, whether it’s through internal trainings, external development courses or client opportunities. I want to encourage other leaders to try this process out if you haven’t already. You never know what you might learn.

I joined an awesome team this morning on a project I'm leading as a consultant, and it was a reminder that the most important skill(s) to look for in almost every hire is the ability to work within a team. Your team. That doesn't mean everybody needs to fit the same. In fact, they shouldn't. It simply entails: * being humble enough to recognize you can't and shouldn't do it all yourself * recognizing strengths in others * knowing your role * sharing insights and resources * pursuing and celebrating team objectives * strong communication skills -- listening, proactive alerts, regular updates

So… How come is it that you’re applying and applying for jobs and you have the experience, the skills, the knowledge for that job and you’re getting rejected couple of times. So please let me know, when you’re finally starting out in a new job, WHY do you find yourself in a team who doesn’t have the same level as you or the expectations that the job is requiring? Long story short: everyone is looking for extreme experience and knowledge but when someone is ending up in their team, they figure out that the staff or their manager has very low knowledge and experience…

Guiding Leaders to Joy through Growth | ICF Certified Coach | Radical Self-Compassion Advocate I Cultivating Consciousness for Greater Compassion
Congratulations on the new position/promotion! It’s been a long time a-comin’, hasn’t it? And no one made a peep about the emotional roller coaster you’d be riding! ⚠️ Pumped = I was made for this! I’ve worked my a$$ off to get here. I deserve this. ⚠️ Uncertainty = Wait! What’s this gonna be like? Am I really prepared for this opportunity? ⚠️ Scared sh*tless = I’m not prepared. I’m not getting the support I need. I don’t want to fail! It’s rough, ain’t it? I mean, you fought for this place and whatever lack of confidence you encountered you were able to avoid addressing because you had leaders to rely on. You were at the bottom of the totem pole. But now? Junior employees are looking to you, and the excitement is turning to uncertainty (= anxiety). I get it. I remember getting promoted back in my corporate days and feeling so unsupported and ill-prepared for leading a team of people. And then they wanted to do performance reviews. It was like "What the hell?!" You’re not the first person this has happened to. And you won’t be the last. Swipe ➡️ to see how you can advocate for yourself and get the support you need! Reach out to me, too! I’d love to talk about this exciting new chapter in your career.
