One of the many reasons I love what I do... Over at Small City Marketing, we just gave a training session on Personal Branding as part of our internship programme. And, if I don’t say so myself, it went excellently! 🥹 And how I measure “excellently” is by our intern's response, and thankfully, she loved it and received a lot of value out of it! If we can help at least one person on their career journey, then that always feels like an achievement worth nothing. When we say our intern programmes are not coffee runs, we mean it. We want to bring the best experience to our interns - even if sometimes that means throwing them in at the deep end (with support, of course!) This has also made me think that it’s funny how easily you can forget how to elevate your personal brand with the whirlwind of running a business, but after putting this training deck together, I am feeling so revitalised with it all. Welcome world, I’m ready for you! 👋 #PersonalBranding #InternTraining #IntershipProgramme

✍️ Intern Diaries Entry #10” At the exact half point of my internship, I committed a blunder which, compared to the mistakes I’ve made so far, was probably the most noticeable. I accidentally deleted one of our Instagram videos. Thankfully, it was a video that I made myself – I would’ve felt many times worse if it wasn’t! It wasn’t anything viral or life-changing, so my colleagues were pretty chill about it. Still felt bad about it – so I started planning my redemption arc. Sun Tzu said that “victory comes from finding opportunities in problems”; and boy am I a big problem. So, the intern made a mistake. That’s sort of relatable for people with fresh intern trauma and the people who must deal with them. Why not add some interactivity with it – push out an Instagram poll; explain the situation and have the audience bestow judgment. It’ll be a natural way to explain why a video suddenly disappeared, plus I can capitalize on my easy-to-bully aura for some sweet engagement! The poll did pretty good all things considered! I don’t know if our social media impact would’ve been better with or without the initial mistake, but I think I adapted pretty well in that situation. Semi-bravo, me. Takeaway: Sun Tzu's literature isn't just useful in war - it's also applicable for dumb intern mistakes! #intern #mistake #marketing

This week one of my friends started an internship and wanted some advice. As this is her first time working in an office setting, she didn’t know what to expect. I immediately thought of so many tips but as to not overwhelm her, I shared these five: 1) Be friendly and engaged 2) Don’t gossip or overshare 3) Try not to eat boiled eggs or fish 4) Google is your friend 5) Ask questions What’s one tip you would share for anyone beginning their corporate journey? #postgraduatestudy #corporatelife #marketingstudent #marketing #transitioningfromstudenttocorporate

Yesterday I completed one year having moved to the Netherlands. As I reflect on this journey there are a few experiences that stood out to me (PART 1). A year ago, I sent a cold email to Nimrod Moyal that has led to a remarkable journey with ADK INSIGHTS. Landing this summer's internship was the result of strategic steps that I'm excited to share! I initiated the conversation with a well-crafted value-based email, highlighting my skills and expressing my eagerness to contribute. This set the foundation for meaningful dialogue. The process wasn't instant; it required perseverance. Regular follow-ups demonstrated my dedication. Through consistent communication, we built a professional rapport. My proactive approach to networking allowed me to understand the company culture and align my goals. This connection transformed into an invaluable opportunity. This experience reinforces the magic of being proactive and persistent. Meaningful networking, driven by a strong personal branding statement, tailored LinkedIn summaries, and refined personal branding can unearth tailored, well-crafted opportunities. In a world of possibilities, proactive networking shines as the compass guiding you toward the most suitable paths. As you navigate your journey, remember, a single cold email can illuminate a path to success! #PersonalBranding #NetworkingMagic #ProactiveJourney

Please join us in welcoming our newest intern, Arlene Di Tacchio. Bringing experience from her previous internships along with the knowledge gained while earning her degree in Communication and Society from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, Arlene is well-suited to support with everything from pitch building to content creation. With her internship concluding in July, Arlene will also be assisting our team with upcoming shows including Salone del Mobile.Milano, NYCxDESIGN, and NeoCon. We’re looking forward to having Arlene on the team! Get to know a little more about her in this Q&A: Q: Where & what are you studying? A: Last September, I graduated in Communication and Society with honors in the faculty of Political and Social Sciences, at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, my hometown. This path introduced me to the world of communication and it allowed me to learn and focus on entrepreneurial strategy, creation, and management of social or advertising campaigns, especially on theoretical aspects such as history, evolution, and current events. It allowed me to fully express my creativity and my personality. Q: Can you share one past or recent learning experience that you loved or that stuck with you? A: An experience that I carry in my heart is my journey as a swimmer. I have been swimming competitively for 13 years, and even if I trained everyday, I have always managed to organize myself between my studies and my passions. It is a sport that has taught me to believe in myself and my abilities. I tend to go against the grain, I love the unusual, I want to differentiate myself and have my say. I put myself out there, and always give my best. Between my wins and defeats, I never stop dreaming. Q: What do you love to do when you’re not studying or working? A: In my spare time I love to create content for social media. I started discovering this world at the age of 14 with the creation of an Instagram profile where I combined images and phrases - since then, I haven't stopped. Being on social media allowed me to understand the inner workings. In my experience, it comes more spontaneously to me to propose original and creative ideas on content to be published, which makes me always look for something that can be innovative and different from the usual. I think outside the box, and try to grasp the best strategy. Compared to when I was writing those short quotes, however, my path has changed. I used to be in social media as a hobby and for self-interest, but over time I realized how fascinated I am of this world and it made me want to learn more about it and take it more seriously. Thanks to the opportunity of doing this internship at Novità I look forward to improving myself and my skills. Q: What’s your favorite food? A: As a true Italian, one can expect pizza as an answer; which is amazing. But, I am in love with risotto alla milanese, and of course gelato!

Not everything is about numbers. Your LinkedIn journey is not solely about impressions. Your education is not only about grades. Your internship us not entirely about stipend. Your gym motivation is not completely about weight on the scale. I am not saying these don’t hold value. But let’s not associate everything with numbers only. Let us also embrace the other factors. The other parts that gets developed in the process. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Diksha Raj for more. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- #personaldevelopment #motivation #linkedinjourney #internship
